Shelved the Soap Commander and has a first use with this NOS Shulton puck this morning. This is an old one- has Early American in the lettering. From the 40s, it appears.
The good- a fantastic lather that exploded so easily. The bad- the puck has turned. I could tell the scent was ‘off’ but it really was noticeable when lathering. I was actually wondering if this was Musk or Leather or something, but they weren’t pucks. Then the rash started…I’m bummed, but it is what it is… In the end? An expensive mug.:LOL:
That handle is gorgeous, Jason! Great shave kit!

A couple of nice days with this TTO so far. I've only kept this 'Canadian Rocket' in the rotation, but have a Red Tip and a birth year SA kicking around somewhere as well. I just don't enjoy Gillette TTOs as much as 3 pieces for whatever reason. A smooth shave for sure, though.
Have a great day all!

I’m with you in respect to TTOs. You MrEE continues to serve you well!

Early morning shave, late afternoon posting. I had a really nice run with the Canadian Rocket these past several days. Not a fave, but in the end every razor will work. On to something different tomorrow. The Oumo flattop doesn't look like it would do a good job with a 3x puck, but it really punches above its weight class and I think it looks pretty cool in the classic handle as well.
Have a great night all!

The Karve with a D plate is just a great combination of smoothness and efficiency for me. 3 passes to fantastic results.
The Soap Commander regenerated itself again...

Another fantastic shave with the Karve. If it wasn't perfection early this morning, I wouldn't want to live on the difference. The Jeeves lather -even though this 5 year old tub is one of my oldest- is still one of my favourite artisan lathers. I need to reach for it more.
A great way to start the day!

Another great shave with the Karve early this morning. I’ll up the ante tomorrow and switch to the ‘F’ plate. I bowl lathered the Endurance this morning. I have morphed from bowl lathering all the time 5 years ago to face lathering almost all the time the past few years. The Omega rocks either way.
Have a great night all!

Kept going with the Karve, but switched to the 'F' plate. I find this a noticeable difference. This is an aggressive enough plate that you really have to stay focussed. A fine tester of technique.
For 'Fougere Friday', it was the first use of the modern Brut from across the ocean in the glass bottle. It was Ok, but I think I prefer the Et Tu splash after one use. I don't have any of the original Faberge Brut, but find this overseas version closer to the drugstore Brut available here than to the PAA version which is supposed to be a good dupe of the original. It does seem to have decent staying power, however. The bottle has no restrictor, either, so you can be 'loud and proud' pretty easily too.:p
Have a great day all!

That is a very cool boar knot, Jason! Glad you enjoyed your classic Fine Soap! I’ve heard the new ones are made in China, and not so good!

The OC_D is even better, if you ever get the chance to try it! Enjoy your Friday!
