A Spartan's Tale

Thanks, Jeff!
What is made in China now? The Oumo knot? I suspect they’ve always been made there. The Fine soaps are made by TFS in Italy.
Oops, my bad! I thought I remembered reading that the new generation of Fine soaps are now made in China. Or maybe, now that you mention it, the owner in Italy may be of Chinese descent!

Yes, Tcheon Fung Sing is Italian. They also make many of the RazoRock soaps in addition to their own label. Imho, there can be a wide range of quality based on which of their bases are used.

A smooth 2 pass weekend shave earlier. The simple, humble Tech does its job. This older Jeeves lather is still amongst the very best in my den. I need to reach for the few I have left more regularly. This Hanae Mori dupe isn’t a fave, but did get a positive comment from SWMBO, which doesn’t necessarily happen super often...
Have a great night all!

I never got the 2018 stuff, but it was well liked as I recall
Went back and read the original thread on the BoS. Here are the notes:
  • Top Notes: Pepper, Cinnamon
  • Middle Notes: Labdanum, Incense, Tobacco Leaf, Osmanthus
  • Base Notes: Musk, Iso E Super, Vetiver, Cedar, Vanilla, Nagarmotha.
No idea what some of these things are....😂

Techs are great razors, Jason! Glad your shave went well. Enjoy your weekend!

Inspired by Jeff to grab the MonoBilt this morning. Whatever Mt. Rushmore of vintage shavers I have, this cool razor is on it. Efficient and Smooth. Not much Bon Vivant left now, but I still have a couple other CL splashes. Such is life.
Have a great day all!

Went back to the humble Tech today and was rewarded with an effortless 3 pass'er that left me just short of perfect. The simple Tech head is so maneuverable and glides so well. I guess there are reasons why the design has lasted over 80 years.
Maybe a bit of sandpaper along the jawline, but certainly not complaining. I'd guess 5-6 days left on the Soap Commander, unless it regenerates itself again before next time. ;)
Not much left in the Shulton bottle either these days, but I've got a Spare to the Heir, so I'm not in panic mode.
Have a great day all!

A bit of a long one today. Tomorrow will be similar, but not anything that is unworkable. Such is life...not complaining.
Another solid shave with the Tech this morning. I like the scent of this local soap, but I think I'd like to try their tallow base next time, if there is one. Finishing with the Cool is always a favourite.
Have a great night all!
