Today's Pick up is Agua Brava, or sometimes Aqua Brava, from Antonio Puig.
Found it at my local CVS and bought it dirt cheap (thanks, membership!). Normally I have a deep loathing of Puig fragrances, I cannot stand original Quorum and Aramis, but this one, the often forgotten one, stands out. I was also pleasantly surprised it had the atomizer, I'm familiar with this one being a splash.
This is a fragrance that does not screw around. The bottle is an eye catching olive green with a classy wooden cap, which indicates an idea of how it smells. The opening comes out and slaps you with a sharp pine resin, absolutely blended with spices, but not your normal idea of spice and such. The spice I mean smells almost like your blend of italian seasoning with the huge basil bomb that is very upfront. It's an eau de cologne so it's got some bite. It cools off the seasoning into a rather refreshing aromatic and actually woody, fresh cut pine with laid back florals, and with the right touch of powdery musk and maybe a hint of leather. Think Mediterranean.
This is a man's cologne, truly. If there's no aftershave version of this, I'd say it's a crime, then say to get the splash bottle and dump it onto whatever moisturizer you prefer, maybe witch hazel for the added aroma sophistication, and just dive right in. Don't be scared to bathe in this one. It's cheap, refreshing, and gone in 30 mins~ or so. I recommend wearing it on a cool, dark, and moody day after a quick "just good enough" kinda shave, to tell everyone you give a damn but to buzz off, you got things to do.
