Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

Indeed. Unfortunately no Cadre Friday for me either. And my Cadre Friday next week is looking kinda iffy :(
Nice to see ya’ll joing me at work today. :)
I'm hoping for a half a day today and then calling it quits. Only things I have to get done are the floor job I've already buffed. And the handful of windows for Mr Crawford that has the ultimate man cave that he lives in. It's at Deerfield resort and he lives in Hangar #1 where he keeps his plane. Cool job site! That would be kinda neat to have a little free space like that!

Henson is a keeper hm? I guessed wrong on that one! Would have said it’d be too mild for ya. 😂

Razor: 2020 Diamondback
Blade: Wizamet (5)
Brush: SV 2.0 TSC
Soap: PdP #63
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: CHH Tobacco
Fragrance: PdP #63

I think Frank @fhalden used this recently and had me thinking how much I love the scent and should pull it out. I get a great lather from it but it doesn't have the residual slickness I like. Still a soap I love and use for the scent. SV 2.0 TSC brush lost a couple hairs 1st use and 1 on the next but not lost any since. Can't ask for more than that. Not my favorite performing SV brush knot but as seen from the soap, sometimes we don't judge merely by performance and can appreciate things for other reasons. The Diamonback is a sheer winner for me. For anyone that visits other forums you know the drama that has been in the background for some time (known by a few) and is now public with people taking sides and ready for a lynching..........................................CHILL and let the people involved and actually know ALL the details handle it and let's just get back to shaving. The forums are a place where I want to relax and forget about the stresses of life. When they cease to be that, I for one will just move along as I'm sure the majority would. Let's remember why we come here for the most part. Good for us all to remember that. Services on Zoom at 2 today for my Dad that passed away Monday morning from cancer. Let's try to keep things in perspective in life. Have a great day Cadre !!!

Yep, I used #63 yesterday, and I'm using it again this morning. I'm with you on the scent, and the performance. I'm happy you are enjoying the Diamondback. It's my favorite razor, and, yes, Ive been following the strife posted elsewhere. I just smile and count myself fortunate to have one. I think I got the last one, as it was from his second batch, and the listing showed it as sold out immediately after I placed my order. Finally, please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of your father. Hang in there, my friend.

Sorry to hear of your loss Dave. Hang in there. I concur with your assessment of the '63 it is a skippy scent. But kind of let down by the soap base.

Nice post Dave. Sorry to hear about your dad. You have my condolences. I lost my father-in-law to cancer on May 30 and my dad is now being treated for prostrate cancer. Health and family are the things that matter most. Have a great day brother.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about Dave as I am 99.89% on TSC. But I can echo your sentiments.

Dave, you are a wise man. I think this is great advice...not just for the forums...but for a lot of things in our lives.

I know I have said it before...but I am really sorry for you loss. These are difficult times as it is...and this makes it harder. My wife and I have said a prayer for your family and we will say another one for you. Love you brother!
