Personally I agree that passarounds would probably be a good idea to stop. But I'll be honest I do have some supplies coming from amazon because that's only place I could some things we needed.

I would say that if you are on charge of the passaround it would probably be a good precaution to pause it for the time being.

I mean passarounds are great and they help take your mind off of real world somewhat because it's stuff you haven't done or tried before but right now real world is infring on that and I just want everyone to be safe.

I'm not in charge of any passarounds on here but I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I mean yes we have our regular mail and things we have to get through the mail that are essentials but I was just thinking why risk it by adding in even more unknowns.

Yeah I dont currently have in my possession any passarounds but was thinking we might need to not do them so we can look out for and protect each other.... Just a thought.

Agree! I think we should put pass arounds on hold for now.
I only know what I'll be doing at my end as far as keeping things as safe and sanitized when processing an order and shipping it out to my customers but once gone I have no idea what will happen from then on with postal handling and it's something I'd like to see addressed publicly from the USPS and other carriers. I know my local post office when I went in the other day to ship some orders out the people behind the desk had gloves on and big bottles of hand sanitizers at each station.

Little update from the last post. So it seems like the virus doesn't like cardboard to much and can only live on it for one day. Not saying it's not risky but at least it doesn't last as long as it does on other materials and that makes me feel a little better about the post office as their not opening our packages unless it's suspicious obviously.

I bowed out of the soap passaround that dkeester is running for this reason. I'm less concerned about razor passarounds since it's relatively easy to deal with the risks associated. Having said that, I agree that they're non-essential and have no problem if folks want to press pause on things.

All I can say is your chance of getting the virus from a postal worker handling your stuff is almost nothing unless it’s the last guy bringing it to you. Then that’s the same as the Amazon guy, the guy that stocked the TP you were lucky enough to find or the one that stocked the whiskey you bought to make it through the next week.

But in terms of the soap pass I’m cool with it just being held where it is for a month or two before it gets sent on.

I could see a soap pass around being on hold if ones wanted to wait but razor pass arounds that razors get disinfected anyway should be a personal decision if someone wants to do it or not. I believe at being careful but not being paranoid. I'm careful and try to stay informed but really I'm not scared in the least and I would be someone perhaps considered on the higher risk side of things. I mean BST's are happening and I don't see that any different than a razor pass around. Just my thoughts and fine with whatever. Just hate to look like we're in panic mode.

im glad to hear it doesnt like cardboard but we also all know that we are all bound at some point to be the one that is lucky enough that has a mail carrier that is sick and makes us sick... maybe not with this virus but at some point in the future we are all that lucky.......

The basketball player wasnt concerned either when he touched all the mikes last week either and he tested positive which was why basketball was stopped initially. I think its better to be safe. I'm not one prone to paranoia either but this is an extreme situation and I agree razors should be safe but soaps and maybe even brushes I would be more wary of personally.

But we all still get mail daily.....

Difference is I said I'm not overly concerned or scared but careful. Im not purposely touching things so that is apples and oranges comparison to what I said.

Yep and we probably will all continue to. Thats just life. My whole original point on this part was seeing what people thought we should do about Certain types of pass arounds for the foreseeable future because of this pandemic....

I know. I think we all have some apprehensions but we cant be scared to live. We do need to limit our chances of exposure to this if there are things we dont necessarily have to do though.... Sorry if I got to close to touching something off. That was not my intention.

well we just went from like 19 confirmed to 28 and our governor shut the schools down statewide until at least the end of the month and strongly suggested a limit of 100 people for gatherings.

I'm on the "don't do stuff you don't need to" train, unlike my brother who went driving on Friday with his wife and two teenage kids from Toronto to Orlando to spend time at Disney.

We won't make a blanket statement really on BST or passarounds. Mainly because mail is still going. Unless it's in customs.

Excercise good judgment and if you don't feel comfortable then drop out of the passaround. They'll be back I'm sure!

Isn't Disney closed? I know the California one is
