Words of wisd..... Yeah right.... We all know better than that!

Today I went shopping. Had to get a few things for the house and there is an Ollie's that opened up here recently that I hadn't been to yet. It's a buyout store. They grab up all the discontinued or surplus stuff and sell it (sorta) cheap. Was mainly interested in their "million dollar fishing supply buyout"...... Ended up getting one Craw Pappy crankbait and that was pretty much all that was there... Bunch of cheap bobbers and those starter pack jig heads but that was it for tackle. There were lots of cheap Zebco closed face reels and a ton of cheap poles, but I already have some good baitcast and spinning reels and good rods.

I did grab some new deodorant though. Got some old spice. Been using the chocolate Axe for years, but these smelled good.

That kind of set the mood for my shave setup tonight also. Some vintage Old Spice soap, new formula AS, (my old one just smells like moonshine now) Paladin brush, and a couple straights.

The white one is the one I needed to refine for @Jaro1069 . The other was fresh off the finisher for @The Monkey. It looks cool and was ok to hone, but a pain to strop. The grooves are set a little funy and my thumb wants to ride up towards the heel and hit the strop. It's not quite there yet. I think the steel is a little softer than I was expecting and needs a little different touch on the stones. The other one was just fine though and finished up the shave with no issues.

Got my new tires mounted tonight. Got a lot of driving to do for appointments this week, so they will get broken in well.

I was afraid the steel would be a pain. I did try to hone it but never got a good edge. I'm glad it was my lack of skill and not the razor. @Jaro1069 must be biting at the bit to try that straight.

well like i told @ShawnF i would prefer to wait a little longer and it be right than to be too in a hurry and it be only iffy. but yeah i like seeing the pics of it and look forward to trying it myself when it is ready... again thanks @The Monkey and @ShawnF for being so kind and doing this for me.....

Great shave Shawn! Those are some awesome looking razors too! Glad you got the tires put on...and hope the appointments go well!

Glad you will be smelling good under the pits Shawn :ROFLMAO: Actually, I'm an Old Spice Pure Sport man myself when it comes to the man pits - good quality stuff.

Great stuff.

I was for several years until I started getting for some reason chemical burns. Literally skin peeling. Google it and read the horror stories. Don't know if the formula changed or I developed a sensitivity to it....

I got the same reaction from Dove’s men’s line. Starts out turning red then it burns and the skin peels. Not fun.

Dave I had some irritation too. What solved it was storing the deoderant upside down. My theory is that all the alcohol settles to the bottom of the OS pure sport because I'd get the redness at the end of the stick but never a problem with the beginning half. Maybe it's not the alcohol but some other chemical but I think it migrates south in the stick. Since storing them upside down I've not had any problem with them. Sorry to hijack your journal Shawn

Meh, he should have more than 9 pages at this point. We're helping him. 🤪 I don't think it was the end of the stick for me but it bears investigation. Thanks

Way behind on stuff here.
Shaves have actually been a little sparse. Mostly simple and quick when I get them in.

I did get another one done for @The Monkey though. It will take an edge John.

That's AOS sandalwood in the old tallow formula for anyone wondering. Good stuff.

home front has been busy. Trying to keep the swamp mowed in the few days we have been getting that it doesn't rain. Baby shower last weekend. Not mine, but I'm gonna be a grandpa. Gotta get a little blue hammer for the shop now. :ROFLMAO:

Work has been keeping me busy. Lots of hours, and lots of fixing and re-working things. Got the optimizer on the gang rip done. Tore apart the wood hog again replacing wear strips this time. Took off 14 hydraulic cylinders and tore them apart to put new seals in, then re-installed. Now re-piping the air intakes for the plants compressors. They go through the roof at the moment, but we are changing them to turn and go out the wall instead since they are putting a new roof on the plant.

Did get some new treads for the feet though.

Good stuff. Don't listen to Dave, Red Wings aren't just for old people; I cherish my discontinued pair. 😂

This is actually my first pair. Worn flat soles for years and years being an ironworker. Usually either craftsman when they were making them or thorogood.

And He's still older than my 46 years. I probably feel older than he does though..... :p

Oh man, you're in for a treat. I'd still wear my pair, but they already have plenty of scars, so they're now my backup pair. Two years and a resole that my feet wouldn't trade for the world.

I wouldn't bet any money on that. Haha. Nobody can take your mental youth but you.

I've still got plenty of mental youth. Trouble is that the body won't keep up with it anymore. :ROFLMAO:
