That was a new jerk seasoning for us, made by a friend of our niece who is starting her own business. We are unofficial testers/guinea-pigs and I have to say that while the scent was very nice, the flavour wasn't there. I suggested to my wife that the feedback be along the lines of "while it's a nice seasoning, it very mild and wouldn't be recognizable as jerk to most people to have had it before."
EDIT: Chewing on the pepper helped
