Parfum d'Empire - Cuir Ottoman

Iris week continues, this is really top drawer stuff. I actually forgot about it, and had only worn it once or twice before today, mistake! Pretty much strides the line between the last couple of Pierre Guillaume, but Parfum d'Empire always has some naturalistic elements, as does this, they shimmer just beneath the surface, and give a real depth. Of course those notes also burn off fairly quickly the it's beautiful when they are around, making this a more artistic, sheer, version of iris. Now I have a three way tie for best iris in the collection. I think that's a good problem.

This is another PdE that I'm coming back to after not wearing for a while, and again, now I'm getting it, and realize it's stunning. The easy comparison is OR Black the riche version. The heavy green narcissus is the star player, and I didn't get any kind of tobacco the last times I wore it, but now it totally obvious, and my favorite kind, not smoke but the cut leaf, straight from the field. The gasoline of the harvest machinery almost covers it, the two together is a wonderful juxtaposition. This sort of flip flops with it just feeling like the weirdest floral of all time, in a very good way. And then there's all that hay. Yeah this is wild, and of course being PdE it never feels synthetic, which is a real treat from time to time. Definitely on the not for everyone list, but that's not ding.

Oftentimes I find it difficult to wear a fragrance when it's 100+ degrees day after day in the middle of summer, but I find this an easy wear.
Try 4711 classic. Very refreshing citrus aqua and depending on your skin chemistry, a light floral musk could come out at the end.

Unless you've already had it and I'm wasting my breath. Acqua di Gio always exists!

Good call by @JanJosh 4711 is a no-brainer for hot / humid days.

I can also recommend Murray and Lanman Florida Water along with Acqua Di Parma Colonia cologne. These three are my primary summer time scents.

Second. I also recommend getting these with an atomizer if possible, if not, get a decant.

They were meant for a splash, and the alcohol cools the skin, but with an atomizer the scent really comes out better and projects... even if it's only for 30 minutes or less.
