Pierre Guillaume - Djhenne
This guy has some many fragrances that this slipped under my radar at first, but towards the end of last winter I resampled and realized it's one of the best modern lavender fougeres I've tried, that lavender itch is another that's hard to scratch for me. This is in the vein of classics like Beau d' Jour in the sense there's that rich almost oreintal aspect to it. But the problem for me with many is they just feel too buttoned down.
Here, Pierre unbuttons the formula with a dose of cacao to provide that rich backdrop to a perfectly pitched lavender, that's neither pharmacists concoction, nor too smoothed out.
How it took so long to find it is a testament to the house's huge catalog, but I'd say this is one of the best, and one I think most guys (or gals) would enjoy.
Throwback Thursday. Not as potent or deep as it once was but, there's enough of its former self to scratch the itch. Lovely stuff that I use just specifically for my own satisfaction & a nice trip down memory lane.
More mint today. This one unlike any other, not the sweet spearmint or the commercially type of spearmint fragrance, but this is truly a wild mint, although there is a hint of pine in this to my nose this is like walking through a forest of wild spearmint I know it does have some patchouly in it, but it is completely overpowered by the mint.
Probably one of the finest mint fragrances I’ve ever used
A spicy and floral Chypre with hints of leather and smoke. This is some of the best perfumery to come out of the 1980's. I would call this a timeless classic.
