I’ve heard the same thing from a lot of YouTube reviewers - which is a bummer - I like Creed Viking EdP - I wonder how they got the cologne version so far off

Tom Ford - Fougere Platine
I love this stuff, but it does have one issue, longevity seems to be pretty low on skin. On clothes it lasts pretty well though.
The opening is strong enough that I don't want to over spray, better just to reapply.

I had read it described as a more refined "Old Spice" scent but I'm not getting it..

i read the cologne was a lot like Old Spice - but the reviews I saw didn’t seem to mirror up. The EdP has that rose and peppermint- which I am not a fan of rose but the peppermint tones it done - but I can see where it is not generally accepted
