Once you taste THAT Ardbeg Uigeadail game over.
Started off with the Compass Box tonight. The nose is dreamy like a TSC Supermodel. Just soft and elegant with some lemon and pear. The taste starts with that and then explodes into pepper with a touch of smoke on the back end. Might settle down as the dram goes on. I would like it a bit more if the elegance stuck around longer. There is another version of this without the Laphroaig in the mix that might hit the mark.
I have had several of the Compass Box offerings @NurseDave and have enjoyed them all.
Moved on to Ardbeg Uigeadail. Wow, what an interesting scotch. The nose is just lovely. Sweet like honey with just a touch of smoke on the end. Then with first sip it punches you in the teeth and then paints your tongue with turpentine. A few sips later and the sweetness comes through with smoke swirling around your mouth and the turpentine turning to spices. It’s an adventure in a glass
