What’s new to you?

Finally!!! I had this rum (yes Don in a run and Coke) at a bar in Tahoe. The three star was not available anywhere else it seemed other than ordering it from wine stores on the west coast. Well I just happened to check and it’s now available here! I need to finish what I already have open, but I can’t wait to try this again. @dangerousdon if you make it out this way, rum and Cokes are on me!

Look I don't have a problem with rum and Cokes. I have a problem with certain rums with Coke. It's kind of like putting 7-Up in a Mcallen 25.

@Dave in KY, not sure but your RFB might actually be a 2 piece with the handle needing to be inserted & crimped. It will work & shave just fine as-is though. The silver plating looks to be in excellent condition, congratulations on getting a beautiful razor as well as a fabulous shaving razor!

Yes, I figured that out. It appears someone has attempted crimping it in the past. I plan to use it as is. Thanks

Shawn, that's a nice looking brush. What type & size of knot. Is it a 3 band or painted bristles? Where did you get it if I may ask.
Not sure on the knot size. No info was listed other than "German shaving brush". There was also no information on the box or handle as to make or knot info. Only what is on the front of the box in the photo.
The boss found it on a local goodwill auction site. It is a painted boar knot.

I tried it out last night and it is rather thinly packed. Not very dense. It also shed a bit but I dont know if it's because it's getting it's new brush shed done or because it has sat for a long time and the glue is old. I may end up reknotting if it continues because I like the handle.

Thank you for the information. After reading your description, I agree with you, it’s a good candidate for reknotting because the handle sure is nice.

A couple things my dad gave me he picked up at the Flea Market $3 each. NDC Super Speed and a 1960 Fatboy

Some may remember me looking to buy a 1960 England tech to replace the one missing in the travel set my stepdad bought for his 21st birthday while serving in the Air Force in England. I had hoped he'd use it once I bought and gave him the razor months ago. Today he passed it on to me. I'm so excited to have this heirloom from him. Not a favorite razor to shave with but will be used for sure at times.
