TV Shows

Just watched the first episode of Succession. I'm in.
Might check that one out.

We just finished Mr. Mercedes, strangely enjoyable show.

Now we're starting the final season of Mr. Robot.

After that I guess we'll have to watch Mr. Rodger's Neighborhood.

I also got on a Chris Gethard Show kick, I'm sure it's too stupid for most of you, but I somehow felt it was like comfort TV.

Started watching the Netflix original "Dracula". So far it's pretty good!

My life is filled with television excitement! Local traffic/weather/news in the AM; PBS News Hour in the PM. I'll also catch the NFL if I can get swing it.

Okay...The wife and I just watched Pen15 on Hulu. It was one of these shows that kind of sucked us in and we were not expecting to binge it. Let me start out by saying that the only way I can really describe this is "inappropriate." I know this casts this show in a negative light...and believe me this is not my intention...but it's one of those shows. Okay, getting that out of the way...The wife and I really like the show.

So here is the premise...two actresses (Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle...I don't expect you to know who they are...because I certainly didn't) play themselves as 13 year old girls in the seventh grade. The actresses are 32 in real life. Anyway...the show is about them being best friends and how they deal with home, school, boyfriends, and life in general. The writing is pretty good and according to my wife, while highly embellished, most of the show is indeed what middle school girls go through. This show isn't for everyone...but the wife and I laughed our butts off, were shocked, embarrassed, and many other emotions while watching this show.

What I find really interesting is that while the main characters are being played by 32 year old women, the rest of the cast is age appropriate. Meaning all the seventh graders are being played by kids and not adults.

Okay...I don't expect any of you to be excited about this show...but I have to say...it really caught my attention.

Been watching the 3rd season of The Crown on Netflix. First 2 seasons were surprisingly good...3rd is great!

Wife and I binged watched The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season three on Netflix. First two episodes were great. The rest of the season I got a little annoyed with the main characters. Come on writers...that show is smarter than that!

Okay...so I am going to show my age here a bit. I found Hill Street Blues on Hulu last night. I watched the first two hour episode (the pilot) and man..despite some of the outdated ideas and non-PC issues in the show...that is some good stuff!

I've been watching the second season of Lost in Space on Netflix with Amber. We Love It!
We just finished Expanse. Holy crap that show is great! Watch it now!
I"ve heard that from a couple people. Will have to look into it.

I loved the first two seasons..... although it was starting to lose it's charm (no pun intended) towards the end of the 2nd. Still need to start watching the 3rd.

Wife and I binged watched "Locke & Key" this weekend on Netflix. I was VERY impressed. And even though there were some things that made me think "Really?" All in all this was a very well done show and I for one really hope they make a season two. The main characters are three siblings and their mother. Two of the kids are teenagers while the other is eight or ninish. I don't think there is a lot in the way of parents to be cautious about as far as language or nudity. But it is on the dark side. I mean...it's not Taxi Driver sore of dark...but this ain't the Teletubbies either. The production I thought was very good. I thought the story could have been developed slightly better...but it wasn't bad. Some things kept you wondering...and other things the wife and I drew straight line conclusions. There were a couple of things that actually surprised me. Final word? I'm hooked.
