Well, "Three Cubes, Two Fingers, and a Splash of Water" as part of a famous quote is very true and IMHO the only way to drink this. As neat is wet oak, burnt carmel and ethanol on the nose, and the same with a sharp heat on the tongue, palate and throat. The finish is harsh and, not to hot, charcoal and wood, and an overpowering licorice to me. That is neat of course. Franks way mellows it all and make this much more enjoyable an finishes much smoother and a touch of sweet vanilla and caramel I am not a big JD fan, but on the rocks it can work. As to the other part of Sinatra's quote "This is the Nectar of the Gods Boys". It would be true, if he was talking about the God's of the Lint Trap. Sorry Frank, but I would not even give this to Joey Bishop, just ok for me
