There and Back Again, A Wet-Shaver's Tale

You cleaned up the Robeson pretty nicely! Bummer it had the unexpected pits. We’re you able to get em all out?
I got almost all of them, except for about 1mm right at the heel that I'm not going to worry about lol. I could only see them at 60x magnification on the loupe.

Razor: John Pritzlaff Hardware Victor
Brush: Sorrentino Turquoise
Soap: LNHC Somali Rose
Aftershave: LNHC Somali Rose
EDP: Penhaligon's Halfeti

Fantastic 3 pass+clean up BBS with the one of the razors I put an edge on last night. LNHC products are just top notch and the post shave elixir is among the best post shaves I've ever used. A couple sprays of Halfeti capped everything off beautifully and I skipped out of the shave den in a great mood.

One more week of midnights before I can go back to day shift. I can't wait. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Where’s the Parker Adjustable bro?! I mean...not that I’m complaining about getting to see these sweet, sharp cuts of steel! 😜

I really like those Barber notch blades.
Me too, they always look good with that notch at the end.
Skipped? TMI there buddy. There's no skipping into or out of shave dens.
Oh yes there is. It was a very masculine skip, but make no mistake...there was skipping. 🤪

Lol I'll get to the Parker. I've just been spending a lot of time honing and have to evaluate the edges properly.

Is frolicking clear out of bounds? Sometime during overseeing times throwing grass seed I feel a Grande Jeté just waiting to come out.

Boundless joy by definition knows no bounds, and therefore neither should it’s expression. Frolick away, I say.

Razor
: Parker Adjustable Injector
Blade: Taconic
Brush: PAA Switchback w/ Gelousy fan
Soap: SV 70th Anniversary
Aftershave: SV 70th Anniversary
EDP: Mancera Cedrat Boise

OK @GearNoir, I finally got a shave in with the Parker injectah lol. It has been a long time since I used my Schick Injector so I can't accurately compare them, but this is an incredibly mild shaver. I started at 1, and moved up to 3 on the first pass while changing the head angle a few times to see how it felt. 4 was the number on pass 2, and I went all the way up to 5 on pass 3. Even at it's highest setting this is a mild razor, and I almost felt like I wouldn't be able to nick myself with it. I actually found that the best way to get my trouble spots was to have the top flush with my skin, tilt it forward the tiniest bit, and add some pressure. That netted me a BBS with three passes and some clean up, though I did manage a small nick on my neck. All in all it was a good shave and the Parker Injector is one that I could see adding into the rotation.

Time for bed. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Nice Eric! Yea I had to crank mine all the way up too. It took a few try’s to get used to the mildness, for the first couple it felt like it was barely cutting at all. It’s deceptively efficient though for its in-shave feeling.

Nice pic.
Thanks Fluffy!

It is deceptively efficient. You get almost no blade feel at all, but walk away with a great shave.

Used the same set up two days in a row. I didn't have the energy either day to do more than grab the first shave related items I saw and use them. Fortunately they are all about as good as it gets for me. Great three pass BBS both days and I'm smelling amazing, which is good since I needed the pick-me-up. 3 guys in my department tested positive for covid and three more are quarantined until they are sure they don't have it. Since that leaves us severely short handed, we are on mandatory 10 hour shifts and I am staying on midnights. This is the second time I was really looking forward to going back to day shift and found out that it wasn't going to happen, so I allowed myself about half an hour to be extremely PO'ed and then I found something better to think about and got back to my day. I learned a long time ago that I can't change my circumstances sometimes, but I can choose to let them poison my mood or not.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Sorry about the cancelled shift change. But your mental approach is in my opinion. The best way to go about it. Many phrases in the Army express this.
Suck it up. Hang tough. Embrace the suck. Focusing on things you cannot control is a huge waste of energy.
Hang tough Eric.

Sorry for your second round of disappointment Eric. That stinks! Hopefully when folks get out of quarantine your extra work will get you some special consideration!

Razor
: Frederick Reynolds
Brush: TSC 2nd Anniversary
Soap: Ethos Colonia
Aftershave: Ethos Colonia
EDT: Salvatore Ferragamo Acqua Essenziale Colonia

This was my first shave with a razor that @MilkCrate honed for our pass around. I believe it was finished on an SB Arkie. I grabbed the new tub of Ethos soap and got to it. Man this scent is great, and the performance is fantastic. If you've ever smelled ADP Colonia and love it, just pull the trigger on this soap now.

The shave was ok with a decent result, though the razor was pretty tuggy from the start. It was removing hair but took some effort to get through some of the denser areas. Interestingly enough it did a pretty good job on the ATG on my upper lip, which is one of the tougher areas for me to shave well. A three pass with some clean up DFS+ was achieved, but the alum let me know that I pushed things a bit far getting there. A bit of the aftershave goes a long way, and a couple sprays of the EDT capped things off nicely.

Hopefully this weekend I can spend some time catching up in the other journals. I hope everyone is doing well.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Sorry to hear about the cancelled shift change. Hopefully you will get back on days soon.

Classy shave there Eric! Hope work treats ya well today!

Thanks guys! I refuse to stress about it at this point.

So I broke my s-word and purchased the Ethos shave soap/as pictured above as well as 6 straight razors. All but one were on the inexpensive side, and that is the only one that hasn’t arrived yet. I brought three to work with me today to buff out and see what else needs to be done.

This really nice looking Electric Cutlery has a problem while closing. The toe actually goes slightly into the wedge on the scales, so I’ve removed them and will need to make some new ones. They are likely either Bakelite or Catalan and have shrunk.

I’ve wanted a Fenney Talley-Ho for a while, and this one went for so little(in Canadian dollars, mind you) that I couldn’t resist. It’ll need the most work out of all of them, but I’m going to try to get at it with some 400 grit wet/dry this weekend and see what can be done.

And break time is over. More pics to come, including one that I think @Maryland998 might like.
