The wonderful excesses of acquisition disorders...and wet shaving

Good stuff with your shave today Josh. I mentioned it with your video...but I think I will pass on this soap. It appears to be a Veggie Soap and that scent just doesn't appeal to me at all.

Now that Kyoto! I am definitely waiting in anticipation for your review. I liked the performance of the last T&S iteration and this scent sound so unique and wearable!

Some nice Mail Calls and set ups Josh. I've had Abbate Y La Mantia in the cart a couple times, and even almost bought some during my trip to Maggards, but the price has gotten to me every time. At that time it was a choice between one tub of a soap I'd never tried before, or two tins of WSP Formula T, which I know is amazing. Guess which one won? lol

Ground hog day? Are you guys toying with me now? That is my son's birthday and I'm not ready for a 5 year old lol

Thanks Don! The AYLM Don Jose won't be for everyone, but it's a great summer scent for me.

The wet shaving soap guru Chad may have met his match with you my friend. Nice mail calls sir!

LOL...thanks TJ!

Looking forward to your impressions of the Kyoto.

It's on deck for tomorrow!

For me, The formula T is a better performer. So unless you find a scent that you HAVE to have, I would have done the same thing.

I have never heard of AYLM soaps, but that Kyoto actually sounds great!

Thanks Dave!

It's always Groundhog Day out here, Chad....lol

Eufros Fougere | Filarmonica JMP Doble Temple 14 8/8”
Currently on Shave #550 | Straight shave #342

Whoa. And when I mean whoa, I mean WHOA! What a shave, even if there was a little red. (user error)

Another new to me soap, Eufros Fougere, this morning. I’ve used a sample before, of the Rosa Bourbon courtesy of cmh737 (it’s AWESOME), so I knew that I was getting a very high performing soap. The sample I used was scoring 51/55, so pretty impressive. Normally, I get better performance when I’m able to load directly from the tub, so I was hoping it might get even better. And yes, it did. I’ll go over it more in depth in the review…but suffice to say, this is now an elite soap for me, no questions asked.

The shave was three passes of lather bliss, until I stopped paying attention to the blade and got a little steep on my chin, causing a mini cut. Nothing that alum didn’t clear up. Everything else was absolutely wonderful. The TSC brush was excellent, the razor was excellent…all around excellent. Topped off with some English Fern; it’s hard to start a day better than that.

Happy ground-hog day everyone!

It's hard to argue with results like that and I love it when a shave just click!

By the way...I know Chad said something about it yesterday or the day before...and I'm not sure how many times you have posted it, but I just noticed your ground-hog day remark. Let's just say Josh...I appreciate it...and I get it. Stay safe my brother!

Thanks Don! The groundog day remark is a truth, but it's also very tongue in cheek.

Nice photo and set up, Josh; and I read your review of the Eufros soap. That Fougere is one that I haven't tried yet.

Great shave Josh. Hope your Sunday (?) goes just as smoothly!

Thanks Chris!

Josh, great pic and shave

Thanks Dave!

Nice read and shave Josh! Be well!

Thank you Brother!

Thanks Chris! It was a worthwhile addition to the den...Looking forward to adding the Rosa Bourbon.

Great couple of shave Josh!

Nice reviews and pictures!

Thanks Craig!

Tallow + Steel Kyoto | Eiko 6/8” near wedge
Currently on Shave #551 | Straight shave #343

By popular request, (OK, there were just two, but that’s more than any other soap request) I broke out the T+S Kyoto for today’s shave and video.

The shave was great, no blood-loss at all, zero irritation after three passes. The scent is something different. I wasn’t sure I was going to like it, but it really did grow on me after a little bit.

The Eiko might need a little work on the stones, so I might do that in the next few days prior to next Monday.

Mail brought in a couple of soaps from Honeybee Sue…Hydrogen and Caribbean Vacation. They both smell wonderful!

Happy ground-hog day everyone!

Nice to see you having a themed razor with your shave! By the way...it's a beautiful razor at that!
