The wonderful excesses of acquisition disorders...and wet shaving

Glad I wasn’t off on my scent ID, lol. I was worried when you said “Oooh” that I would be and you be disappointed somehow.

Looking forward to the review!

Nah...that was an "oooh" with joy and anticipation...lol. Thanks Chris!

Great reads, Josh. And a watermelon Jolly Rancher soap sounds great!

Thanks Chris...this might be up your alley! I think they sell samples, so you won't have to commit to a full tub.

Great shave. Sounds like an enjoyable scent.

Thanks Don, it was!

Catching up Josh, Great read and the Fridour looks great and to echo the cadre

ICED PINEAPPLE YES!!!!!!!!!!!

Great mail call, shave, picture, and read Josh!

For some reason I'm craving Jolly Ranchers now and I can't have them!

What I remember of 100 Days of Wind was sand getting into EVERYTHING!!!

It's not that bad where I am, but I will say that you're walking into the wind going to chow, so you get a meal of dirt/dust before your actual meal if you're not careful. And it's best to not to mention what the dirt out here is primarily made of....

Oleo Soapworks Rougere | Ragg Napoleon 6/8” near wedge
Currently on Shave #508 | Straight shave #306

Another good shave this morning with the Oleo Soapworks, this time with Rougere. This is a fougere scented soap, with a rose accent to it. It really is a very well put together scent, and very much develops and matures as it’s lathered. I go into that more in depth in the review, (both video and written), so suffice to say, I really did enjoy this soap. No burning sensation, which leads me to believe that it’s the EO/FO’s in the Melonade that gave that sensation. I’ll have to use that once more to see if that was what was going on.

The shave was a no-nonsense, three pass and a clean-up. The Ragg needs to be taken to the stones again, as it left quite a few stragglers behind, so the keenness needs to be taken up a notch. It should just take a refresh on the JNAT to get it where it should be. Very little irritation, however, and after a little clean-up with the ‘Jectah, I’m sitting at a DFS, as there were still some lucky hairs I missed in a few locations. I did overshave a little on the right corner of my jawline, so there was a little feedback from the alum.

One thing I didn’t go over in the previous shave with Melonade was the aftershave balm that Oleo makes. It really is a good product. It goes on smooth and does not leave an oily surface at all…if you have more oily skin, this would be a good balm to pick up.

On the home front, Dad had put himself in the hospital this past Sunday morning when he was complaining about some chest pain and weakness in his right arm. He’s had some cardiovascular issues in the past (numerous angioplasty’s and a heart attack), so anything like this is concerning. Luckily, he knows his body well enough to throw the flag and self-admit himself. He had his angiogram last night, and they found that his carotid artery was 98% blocked. So the angiogram turned into an angioplasty and a stint was put in to clear the blockage. There were some other partial blockages that they found, but nothing that they were willing to do anything about, yet. He should be released today, so hopefully this episode is behind him.

Have a great day, everyone!

Great shave! Glad there was no irritation with this one!

Sorry to hear about your dad’s health issues. I’m glad he knew that enough was enough and got himself to the hospital. Sounds like it could have gone really badly if he hadn’t. Prayers for a speedy recovery!

All caught up, Josh! Those were some great shaves and nice reads. I am very happy the Lavender Creeper made it to you in one piece, that stuff had me sweating as I packed it, knowing how far it had to go!

Thanks Chris! He's going to be taking the rest of the week off, doing nothing to allow his body to get back to full health.

Great shave, read, and picture Josh!

Praying for your Dad!

Thanks Craig!

Great shave.

I am glad that your dad is okay.

Thank you Doug!

Thanks again for getting a hold of it for me Jim! It's an awesome soap that lived up to my lofty expectations, and to be frank, exceeded them!
