The TSC Coffee Shop

My Bride and I have tried a lot of "grocery store" coffees over the years, but we keep coming back to Peet's Major Dickason's. We find the freshest beans at Costco. We drank medium roasts for years, but we now prefer a smooth-tasting dark roast (no cream or sugar). Peet's fits the bill for a good tasting cup. We drink at least a pot every morning. We don't claim to be coffee connoisseurs, so I can't really say much more. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

I've been considering an Aeropress for my afternoon cup. I would appreciate any tips or suggestions on grind size, brewing methods, etc. Thanks.
"Peet's Coffee* was established first in 1966, while Starbucks was founded later in 1971. Peet's played a significant role in influencing the founders of Starbucks by teaching them about coffee."

And Peet's makes a far better cup of coffee!

*Alfred Peet (pronounced closer to "pay-t") was a Dutch immigrant.

I'm new to aeropress also. The method I'm using is from Tales Coffee, called floating puck technique. First time using aeropress. Using Normcore V2 flat burr hand grinder. Still figuring out grind setting.

Here's the brew recipe I am doing. Came out pretty good on second attempt. Went to 96 c water temperature and changed grind setting a little finer at 23 on my Normcore V2 flat burr hand grinder. Settings on Grinders are usually slightly different on different Grinders.

Floating aeropuck recipe for AeroPress

Inverted Aeropress set plunger at 3 mark

20 grams of coffee

Fill 100 grams of water first wait 2 minutes

Stir to saturate grounds

Second pour (pour slowly) make sure you hit all the grounds fill to top. Crack and push down the crust and stir again to saturate all grounds wait 2 minutes

Watch and wait until all grounds are settled to bottom (should be boulders on bottom, fines on top if you stirred enough). Probably around 2 minutes for this to happen (it's an eyeballing it more than time. Want everything settled down)

Give aeropress a little spin

Pull down to 4 so it pulls water out of puck then push back to 3 1/2 to seal back up

Cap and filter on
Flip and press slowly

Add 50 grams water

To find grinder range setting for my Normcore V2 flat burr hand grinder for AeroPress actually had to ask Google for it since it didn't list it. Worked pretty well

I have people in Brazil for that.
It's good to have people.

I would be curious to try growing my own, the plants aren't that expensive. But apparently it's 8 to 10 years before you get anything worth grinding up and I can't keep a plant alive eight days. :(

Well, you guys made me break out my Bialetta fire engine red mokka pot knock-off for an afternoon espresso with anisette and almond biscotti. The biscotti were unfortunately not homemade but didn't have the time for that. The coffee was the Coreggio I posted above. It wasn't quite as espresso-y tasting or as dark as I was expecting but it was still a delicious (demi) cup. And yes, I forgot to take a picture for you.
