Like @jgreenepa and @Bill M , I too spent a lot of time on TSD going back to 2014 and ended up with the appropriate custom title of “Blind Squirrel”. I will discuss that further, after introducing myself. My name is Clint and I am 56 years old. I began my wet shaving journey as a teenager using a brush and shave soap along with a cartridge razor. In fact that was my basic setup for many of years up until 2014. I read something about being able to save money by using a DE razor. Had I not joined any shaving forums saving money might have been possible. Seven years later, I can safely say that I have not saved one penny but I have had a blast. 🤣

From the beginning, I have never had a plan to setup a collection or concentrate on a particular area of our hobby. I have just bounced around from one interest to the next. For a time it will be soaps or a particular type of razor before jumping to the next interest. With all that I am much like a blind squirrel that has managed to find a nut every now and then. Welcome to my journey and let’s see what I find next.

I have 6 CH2 Synthetics. One is the ivory and the remainder are different colors. You just have to be lucky enough to grab them when they are available on the site.

I was up and moving early again this morning. It seems that the new pup, Greyson, enjoys very early morning walks. So I guess I won't be getting to sleep in anytime soon. Today's shave was the maiden voyage for a couple new additions to the shave den. First up is the Charcoal Goods Everyday razor. I was lucky enough to grab the head and handle from their store last week. I got the Captain's Fawcett soap when I bought the ABC soap. The soap was easy to load and lather. Being triple milled it should last a very long time. As always the Oku brush was a joy to use face lathering. With a wonderful slick lather, I went to work with the Everyday Razor. I found the correct angle right away and found the razor to be very smooth and efficient. I easily caught the baby with three passes and touch ups. I use the razor for a couple more days before going back to Open Comb October.

It is Monday again. With an aging mother that I visit each weekend. The weekends just seem way too short. That is even more true after the stressful week last week. At least I think this week should be less hectic. I was able to get a great shave to start the day off on a good note. The Everyday razor is just such a smooth forgiving razor. It reminds me of a heavier version of the Feather AS-D2 which is one of my favorite razors. Off to fight the Atlanta traffic for my morning commute. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Comparing it to the AS-D2 says a lot for it. Hmmm, I’m sure glad you’re not an enabler! 😏 Hope the drive goes well, and that your week isn’t too stressful!

Greyson has the sweetest personality. He tries so hard to please you. I think it will just take time and a lot of repetition to get him trained.

Happy Tuesday Everyone. I had a very productive day yesterday. Greyson is on a bed next to my desk, while I am typing this. He is really starting to settle in. I will say Greyson keeps me on my toes. He runs wide open and then crashes just like a young toddler.

The Everyday Razor continues to impress me. I love smooth razors and this one certainly fits the bill. A very good shave is always a nice start to the day. Off to my office for the morning and then a client site this afternoon. I hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday.

Great shave, Clint, but even better is your time with Greyson! I get it! Gromit is my regular sidekick! We spend every day together! Enjoy him!
