Happy Monday. The long weekend is officially over. From now to the end of the year, my work is just crazy. At least it will get better after year end. All the hardware and software played well together this morning. Three passes and touch ups just missed the baby due to operator error. Even so it was a fantastic shave. I hope everyone has a great Monday.
Solid shave Clint! What is it you do for work again? Start that countdown clock to the end of the year!

Chris, I am an Accountant. We are a small boutique accounting firm. My primary role is as a consultant acting as an outsource CFO. My clients generally have a solid book keeping staff but do not need a full time CFO but they have our firm for the times that one is needed. This is usually at month end, quarter end or year end. My biggest gig has me onsite several times a week. They are unique in that for the year end close, they distribute 100% of the earnings and basically zero out the company. Then each partner funds the company pro rata in the new year. Very strange setup but it works for them. For me it makes year end a nightmare trying to hit a moving target up until the last minute.

Happy Tuesday Everyone. I decided to work remotely today. My office is still in the middle of a renovation which with luck should be done this week. The MWF was getting very hard to load from the container so I moved the remains to the bottom of a shave bowl. This was much easier to load and lather this morning. Three passes with touch ups caught the baby with ease. The double dose of Bay Rum this morning worked well with our cold temps. I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday.

Beautiful shave Clint!

As a fellow corporate finance person, my mind is spinning at this type of arrangement. Scramble to deliver the year is something I am very accustomed to, but distributing all earnings and relying on the partners to fund the following year's ongoing operations is WILD.

Ryan, I have been in this business for over 30 years and this setup is the craziest thing ever. It would be bad enough dealing with small numbers but these guys get paid over 7 figures. Worse yet you start of the new year with no cash at all. So many times they have to fund the business until earnings start coming in. It was bad enough in past years when there were a lot of paper checks so you could with a wink just lock them in the safe and deposit them in the new year. Now everything is electronically deposited so I am in there on the 1st trying to tie up the stuff that came in the night before. It is just pure craziness. But they are paying my bill and are unwilling to change.

November 2021 Recap

I forgot to post the monthly recap earlier. November 2021 was a great month for me all around. I am feeling pretty good if a bit stressed. Greyson is settling in and turning into a wonderful fur buddy. Plus I got to see both our girls this month. On the shave front, I have just rotated through razors I like as well as some I trying to learn. The focus for me this month has been making a dent in some soaps. I have Mitchell's Wool Fat on the ropes and have made a big dent in The Dead Sea. With luck I will have the Fat finished soon. I have really enjoyed hanging out here with you guys on the Cadre. I am starting to get to know several of you better through your posts. My goal for the remainder of 2021 and next year will be to get to know you guys better. I am looking forward to hanging out next month. I apologize in advance if my posts and responses are haphazard but the end of the year fries my brain. Thanks again everyone. See you next month.

I would not have a problem with how the company operates, especially if I am not a part-owner. I would just charge way more than a normal fee due to the time involved to get things sorted out. Works for me.🤑

I guess that makes it easier if they suddenly want to call it quits? 😵

Happy Hump Day Everyone. Back out to a client site today. At least I was able to get in a relaxing shave this morning. Dialed the Muramasa up to 4 for today's shave. A touch more blade feel but still silky smooth. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby with ease. I hope everyone has a fantastic Wednesday.

Happy Thursday Everyone. This week is going by very quickly. The few little slivers of MWF were going around the bowl so much it was impossible to load. I pushed the remaining MWF into the top of my Donkey Milk Soap and went to work. So the Fat is done and dusted just in time for Christmas. I have a feeling the ladies will buy me a replacement puck. I will keep working on the RR Dead Sea soap and pick a cream that to knock out as well. Three passes and touch ups caught the little guy. An automatic drama free shave was just the ticket to start the day. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday.
