The Heysi Missive

Well.....here we are in 2025. This month has been the longest month in human history....but things are moving along a bit faster now that I'm in full trip planning mode. First up is a trip to Tennessee to see my granddaughter.....she'll be 10 months old by that time and she's just now starting to stand.

The plans for my Boston trip are shaping up. Airfare and hotels are being booked ($$$)....yikes! I can recall when plane tickets were inexpensive......ahh the good old days. "Gather round kiddies and let old Heysi tell ya tales of when the metal flying machine was cheap". I still have to wait for Red Sox tickets to go on sale.....hopefully those will come in less than the plane tickets.

Recently booked tickets to see Dr. Zahi Hawass do a lecture on Royal Egypt. If you love archeology....he's the man. Should be a fun evening.

On the shaving front.....I'm getting ready for the William's challenge and the One Blade challenge. Both are very easy challenges for me since I started on Williams back when I was 14....and I typically use the same blade for at least 100 shaves at a time. So.....not really a challenge.

I recently started a @GearNoir patented Clown Puke tub. Just a bit of a leftover tub of Stirling Barbershop and a bit of Stirling Sharp Dressed Man. I'll be adding a bit of CBL Drinks & Daves to it in about a week....so its off to a fair start. Maybe by this time next year I'll have enough to work up a lather.

See ya Later!
Although I would argue about Dr Hawass, but that is for an offline conversation with sharon and I, as to motives and allegiance, but again for another time

So.......I discovered the perils of Amazon ordering. Ok....all of us know how you can end up buying plenty of crap you don't really need....or how you can buy more than you really can reasonably use in a life time.....but in this case I'm referring to the perils of having an Amazon Prime account and a daughter that has asked to borrow the account so she can save on shipping. Earlier this week, I went into my Amazon so I could order a Valetine's day gift for my wife. She likes these soft, squishy stuffed animals that are popular in Japan right now....and one is shaped like a cat (she loves cats....we have 2). So I find the one she likes and I order one to be delivered thursday. "Perfect.....its lunch time on monday and I'm done with shopping for valentine's day".... I think to myself. I then open up my email and see that, sure enough...Amazon says "your order is already being processed". That's when I notice that the delivery address is in Tennessee....to my daughter's house.....not mine in Las Vegas!!!! Oh no!! So I quickly try to edit the order. Nope. They're so quick now that its already been handled. Drat. So I quickly order another one...this time to MY address and fire off a text message to my daughter to tell her of the issue. But I'm saved in that I was able to turn a loss into a win by telling her to just keep the stuffed cat and give it to my Granddaughter as her valentine's day gift. Simple. Right?

Woke up this morning and thought....."I wonder if she also changed the default credit card to hers?".

Yep!

So I had to change all of that back and then Zelle her money for two stuffed cats....both of which get delivered to 2 different addresses today as gifts. Thank god we have technology to make our lives better.

On the shave front:

Day 13 of the William's challenge. I've had to shake myself out of the habit of using the bare minimum of soap each morning. I'm not trying to make the puck last longer than I've ever done before....did that last year. This year is just about using it the whole month of February. So I'm loading it as much as I used to back when I first started shaving. Gather round the fire and let old Heysi tell ya tales of shaving back in the 1980's.....The first time I shaved was with a puck of William's using a Gilette Black Beauty and a Gilette Silver Blue blade. I've always been vintage.

This morning I got less than stellar lather...but that's never a problem with William's. Even with wispy lather and barely any left on my face near the end of the shave.....William's is so slick and cushiony that I still got a terrific shave.

See ya Later!

My wife lets her girls order things under her account they those doors are always ordering things using the wrong card or someone else's gift card and sending money back and forth.

BTW, while it's not on my wish list, if I were to receive a squishy cat from you, I would cherish it always.

@heysi , we have THREE cats! I’d love to have a squishy Japanese cat (my wife has visited a friend there twice)!! I would also cherish it always. Black, please. 🐈‍⬛
