The Heysi Missive

Well.....moving has been completed and we survived. My shoulder hurts...my back hurts but everything is in the house. Now we just have to move everything to its new location within said house and the world will rejoice (huzzah!!!). But for now.....I'm just going to rest a few days and enjoy the new digs. The wife is already pleased that our homeowners insurance went down by half and we expect the Directv bill to go down now that we only need 2 tvs in this house and not 5 like in the huge house.

This morning was the first time taking the freeway to work in nearly 20 years. With the move, the most direct route is down the freeway for @8 minutes. It actually cut time off our commute but with the way people drive in Vegas, we could end up late some mornings because in this town, freeways = race tracks and multi-car pileups are the norm here. Luckily the first lane I get into is the same lane all the way to my exit so changing lanes only happens on the on-ramp merge....so I'll be the passive commuter each morning. I often forget that I used to take 3 of the 5 busiest interchanges in the country just to get to work each morning....I miss living in Los Angeles...but not THAT much.

Sorry I missed the zoom call. We spent most of sunday prepping the empty house to receive all of our stuff.

Shave Journal:

Missed a couple of shaves during the move (sorry, I was beat) but this morning....in the new bathroom....surrounded by boxes....I broke the seal on the future shave den!! And with still doing the Williams 100 shave challenge....it was a nice, smooth, quick shave. No change in gear, no change in prep, no change in outcome......the room looks different but the shave remains the same.

See ya Later!

Glad you're in and getting settled.

Moving is such a pain. I hate it so much that while in the Navy, I turned down a chance to go to a ship stationed in Hawaii. By that time I had already moved twice and it was a nightmare both times. I could only imagine what a PITA it would be moving all the way out there.

Wishing you happiness in your new home! There's always time for a shave after you're all moved in.

Both soaps?
That was before the @Spider visit. He was the bearer of many soaps. I think I'm up to 15 or 20 now.

I was wise enough to keep my daily driver separate from the main shave den box. I've been shaving every day (except for the weekend....which was a crazy swirl of boxes and movers and furniture). I've never looked Jumanji in my life. The wife would probably kick me out.
