The 4th "Annual" Williams Mug Soap 3017 Challenge!

Halfway through the month. I don't think I'm halfway through my puck yet.

I think everyone in this has used Williams before, but is anyone learning anything this time around? Are you trying anything new or different with your puck?
I'm learning that I really don't like it in a mug. Mine is in an old spice mug and I'm not fond of it for every day use. (Or even every other day in my case.)
It is harder to get a good load with the limited brush movement. I'm gonna move it out of the cup tonight and see what kind of load I can get without the restriction.

Prior to this month, I've only used it intermittently and it was whatever. Now it interferes with my laziness and wanting to get done at the end of the day.

You might want to try the Spider Williams method. Just rub the puck on your face and then face lather. I'm going to switch back to that method this weekend. It works surprisingly well.

I'm not sure I've ever compared face feel after a shave. I know that my face is currently not dry after the Williams shave this morning. But we've got rain for the first time in 230 days.......so the humidity level is off the chart. I'm probably the last one to call upon for an "expert" opinion.

@CBLindsay I heard you made a version of Williams....is that still available?
I do still have some but the pickings are slim. I do plan to make more. Any scent suggestions?

Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 17

IMG_6507.jpg

Catastrophe struck this morning at the Happy Hogan household, as the container for my Williams soap, the vintage Seaforth mug, was reduced to shards from a fall off the counter onto the only part of the bathroom floor not covered with a rug. Perhaps it was the ghost of J.B. Williams reaching out from beyond the grave, irked with my choice of soap receptacle. It's okay though. Think I have something he'll be pleased with.

You guys hit on the next thing I wanted to chat about. How are you using it? Do you keep it in a mug? do you take it out to lather? Are you Bowl or Face Lathering?

I've been keeping mine in a salsa bowl. I soak it for a few minutes, sometimes less, prior to use. Then, I pick the puck up and load from it while it's in my hand. then I flip it over and load form the other side. I figure If I've been soaking it and it softens on all sides, then I should get the benefit of that all the way around. Then I face lather.
the vintage Seaforth mug,
OH NO!!!! Biggest fear when using vintage stuff.

I'm just loading it on the brush and then bowl lathering. I'm tempted to switch back to the Spider Williams method. It gives great face lather.
