Shave Time!

Razor:
Colonial Razors Aluminum General
Blade: Feather Pro
Brush: Eveready Mystery Badger
Soap: WSP Blackbeard
AS. WSP Blackbeard

Decided to go with Blackbeard today and The General. For today’s purposes it felt right to go with this combo for a take no names approach! The shave itself was...a little lacking. I think it was just time for a new blade. Not sure how many shaves were on this one, but I know it was quite a few. Walked away DFS but there was a little blood. That’s ok though, I smelled great and I was ready to kick some butt!

In Other News...

I met with my boss and his boss today about a potential promotion that opened up a few weeks back. To put everything in perspective I’ll give you guys a little background...

We’re a salvage auction, we sell totaled vehicles for insurance companies. My current position with the company is that of a title clerk. I transfer the titles for all the vehicles into the instance companies names so we can then sell them at auction.

When I started with the auction I was a yard attendant. I checked in the cars when they were dropped off and ran a front end loader moving them around. Before that I drove a tow truck for the towing company we used to be contracted with and brought the cars in. So I started as an entry level yard employee and have been able to work my way into the office lol.
The position that’s available is for the yard supervisor spot. This would put me back outside but gets me some management experience so I can continue to advance within the company.
So now that I made you read all that...lol.

After meeting with the boss and his boss (the regional manager) they want to create a floating assistant branch manager position for me so I can start to train to take my boss’s place when he retires next year. This job would get me management training and keep my out of the yard lol. The only potential problem is the boss’s boss’s boss (the area manager) approving the creation of the position. The regional seems to be confident that it’ll happen, but said if it doesn’t I’ll end up with the yard sup. position. Basically he said I’m overqualified for that job, and clearly would only be using it as stepping stone. So he wants me to just skip it. But he also doesn’t want me to be stuck where I’m at so he’s leaving both options open until he gets word from his boss.

A current yard employee also interviewed for the yard sup. position and while he’s less qualified, they feel that he would be a good fit if I end up with the floating manager position. So hopefully everything falls into place and we’re all happy lol. We just have to wait and see what happens...

Notice the intact pillow in the background. Someone has been kind of a good boy lately 😂😂😂

Good stuff on the job front (y)

As for Willie's pillow fetish, have a special "pepper sauce" pillow made up for him to play with. He'll probably start avoid pillows and move onto other things like rugs, jackets and couches..... but at least your pillows will be safe.

Thanks guys!

Willie already has a couch, love seat, and easy chair under his belt! I’d rather him eat the $10 pillows haha!

Awesome shave today minus one little hiccup. Accidentally caught the bottom tip of my left earlobe...who knew ear lobes bleed so much!

The Maca Root cream performed surprisingly well. I've never had as good an experience with a cream before. The scent is really nice too, although probably better suited for nicer weather. The ASB however, was a different story. It did it's job, but the scent is not at all the same as that of the cream. It isn't bad, it just doesn't match the cream. It's also light and not very long lasting, so it's actually a good option if you're trying to go in a different direction with a frag afterwards.

I've been in a bit of a shave slump recently. By that I mean I've just been using the same gear over and over, just switching between 2 razors and a couple soaps. Maybe I need to add a new option to spice things up....anyone using anything recently that they really love?

In Other News...
I was informed Friday that my boss (Doug) talked to his boss (Mark) about the possible promotions at our branch. Doug asked if he had made any decisions and apparently Mark said very nonchalantly: Oh yeah we're going with the plan to make Steve assistant branch manager and put him on track to take your place, it's just not official yet but we'll know early next week. So Doug filled me in, but said there is still a chance plans could change. I don't think they will, otherwise he wouldn't have mentioned it. The other internal employee that interviewed for the yard supervisor position is also being promoted to that spot, so hopefully everyone is happy lol. Fingers crossed I get some official good news this week!

Willie World:
Willie has spent most of today and yesterday sleeping. We had a sleep over Friday night with our 8 year old niece, so he got about 3 days worth of play time in one night! He was a happy boy, and now he's a tired boy lol!
