Steve's Journal: The Saga Continues....

Ok ok, I need to get back to my Oz samples. I can't remember one from another by name.

4 passes is a lot of shaving for DFS brother.

Yes and yes lol. Definitely dig out those samples. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

As for the 4 pass DFS. I came out mostly BBS but a few spots on my neck were not quite there and they were large enough spots to just call the entire shave DFS+. Maybe I need a lesson on shave grading 🤓

Nah, sounds like you have it right. I always thinks it's funny the whole "BBS except". I'm sure I've written that a time or two. But BBS means BBS, but heck it's just an arbitrary thing and it is frustrating when everything else is smooth as glass except one little spot of a few hairs.

Haha I agree @NurseDave! I feel like if you're claiming BBS it better be everywhere! I've only achieved that a hand full of times. I will give @MilkCrate a pass though. He usually gives a percentage of his BBS so I feel like it's a bit more official lol!

Shave TIme!

Razor:
Yuma
Blade: Parker (3)
Brush: Stirling Kong Synthetic
Soap: Razorock Santal Royale
AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Third shave with the Yuma today, and more of the same. Got a decently close and very comfortable shave. Not BBS, but certainly DFS and a very comfortable process throughout. My final thoughts on the razor after 3 uses are:

-This is the lightest razor that I've ever used by a long shot. Not necessarily a good or bad thing. Just very light. Also, the metal used must be cheap as it almost feels like plastic.
-This is the mildest razor that I've ever used. It is not aggressive at all, which I think lends to its comfort, but detracts from closeness.

-The aesthetics of the razor were pretty neat. The design on the handle was different and has an old school kind of art deco flair to it.

Overall I'd definitely keep this in my den as a great travel razor, or a good hangover shaver 😂

We're in the homestretch for vacation time. We leave for Spring Training in a few days and I'm super excited. I can't wait for baseball, warm weather, and just a few relaxing days with the wife. The best part of this vacation is that the only part planned is the when we have to be a the games we're attending. Otherwise everything else is play it by ear. There's no agenda and we just go with the flow. It might be a little harder this year since a few other people are tagging along (unexpectedly), but we'll still have a good time.

Willie World:

Willie was a little high when he came home from work with his momma last night lol. Apparently he got his nails trimmed and a few other things checked out, and he was being a little brat about it so they gave him a sedative. He was feeling gooooood when I came home from work haha.

Shave Time!

Razor:
Stirling DE3P6
Blade: Parker (4)
Brush: Stirling Boar
Soap: WSP Blackbeard
AS: WSP Blackbeard

Happy Anniversary Cadre!!!!
Had a nice relaxing shave this morning since I had a few extra minutes today. I went with my current favorite soap/AS, WSP Blackbeard. I also decided to put the Stirling boar through the paces again after posting about the awful shedding. I guess the thread I started about that scared the brush into good behavior. It only lost one hair throughout the entire shave, and it was while I was loading the brush. After that it was a great performer. It whipped up a great lather and I was honestly impressed. I'll still contact Stirling to see what they say but I'm hoping it was just a break in thing. So all in all I walked away BBS everywhere except for a few trouble spots on the neck. So I'll call it DFS+.

We head down to Clearwater, FL tomorrow for our Spring Training trip and I'm excited! Really looking forward to relaxing and spending time with the wife and some good friends. Also looking forward to catching up on everyone's anniversary shaves throughout the day!

Willie World:
It's a good thing I'm basically in vacation mode today, because Willie had me up twice last night to go out. That's really unusual for him, maybe he knows we're leaving him for warmer weather and he's getting early revenge....
