Holy bloody face Batman! I am not used to using a shavette that is for sure!! I gave myself weeper after weeper and managed to treetop a few small moles on my neck as well. A straight razor rarely cuts or causes weepers for me, but this thing! Wow! @woodpusher, you knew what you were doing when you sent it to me, didn’t you 😂.
The SV proved to produce a serviceable lather, this was my second go at it. Unfortunately I still had to go back to the soap for the third pass, but it is great smelling slick soap.

I’ll have to keep working at my technique with this thing, I won’t let it beat me. I’m flabbergasted that it’s so widely different from using a traditional straight.
Feather Professional Super blades eclipse the sharpest straight you have ever used. You'll get better. Keep the touch extra-light.

Good morning Cadre! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

A bit of indecision with today's shave. Normally I have a fixed idea the night before of what I'll use for my shave the following morning. Not this time. But ultimately, after going back and forth between several items, I decided to go with Seaforth Spiced. Good call too! This is exactly what I needed this morning, wonderful spicy scent and the lather quality is exceptional. Three passes with the Tatara yielded a DFS++ result. Great way to round out the workweek. Wonderful!

Hope you have a great day. :)

Soap Stirling Iced Pineapple
Brush Yaqi 24mm Green Mink
Razor Thiers Le Grelot 6/8 - On Loan 1st Use!
Aftershaves Stirling Witchhazel Lemon Chill + Stirling Iced Pineapple
Super nice lather from this soap! The scent is intoxicating, the lather is cooling, creamy & slick...awesome!
Trying for the 1st time an on-loan modern Thiers Le Grelot...beautiful looking, nice weight & balance with a smooth and comfortable edge honed on jnats. While the kind & generous owner showed how well the edge cuts through his whiskers (I was impressed)...he's in his 30s...my older whiskers say nope...:LOL: Managed in 3+1passes for a ccs result only. I have the owner's permission for this razor to go through the pasted balsa progression...yay! Let's see how tomorrow. Matching aftershave was great!

I've noticed a definite change in my whiskers (again) just in the last year to year and a half. Razor and blade pairings that used to give one shave are now giving a different shave.

Hey, thanks for your comment. Yeah indeed...I noticed as I aged...those grey/white whiskers were able to defy a sharp steel edge despite repeated attempts to remove them...the edge gotta be light-saber-sharp!!
In my still short journey, DE/SE razors/blades are the only ones that can give me the closest shave so far. SRs are catching up but rather slowly.

Accurate!

Now the funny thing is that I was recording a video for the Saponificio Varesino sample @BarberDave sent me. I got to the end of pass three and thought it might make SV look bad, so I didn’t even post it. It was BAD, I mean blood dripping down my chin and everything.
Dude!

Sup whit datt!
