SHAVEWIZARD'S THOUGHTS

Well that didn't take me long...and of course I HAD to add the extra soap and aftershave so I could get free shipping. Two soaps and Aftershaves on their way in the Foxville and Wicked Scents! I was going to try some of their samples...but the scents I really wanted to try were sold out...if I like the soap...it looks as if I might be making another order!

Of course you had to get the free shipping Don, anyway to justify another purchase lol.

Hope you enjoy the OZ. Let us know your thoughts on the aftershave longevity.

Prep: Occams Crushed Lime pre shave soap
Razor: The General
Blade: Gillette Rubie
Brush: RR Plissoft
Soap: Passionatly Natural- Euca Lime
Post: Dr. Jon's Lemongrass Geranium oil

Very nice refreshing shave this morning. Passionatly Natural is another artisan that doesnt get much mention on the fourms, making it a bit of a hidden gem. Scent is a mix of eucalyptus and Lime that is fairly strong and the 2 notes work well together.

Performance is very good. Whipped up a thick lather in the red bowl with no problem. Tried to take a pic of the lather but camera on phone is nicht so gut so it doesnt do justice to this product. Slickness is very good and provided a swell shave. No nicks or issues whatsoever. Post shave is decent as well. Finished off with Dr. Jon's oil, this stuff reminds me a bit of Siliski Soaps aftershave as both are oil rather than alcohol/witch hazel based. My GF does not like the scent of Lemongrass Geranium so waited till she left for work to use it lol. Hope everyone had a great shave!

He might buy it up, leaving SW none.

Why are you talking about me, like I'm not even here?

Oh, don’t show KJ the crushed lime preshave!

While the Occams pre shave is not bad, its nothing to write home about and is not something i would re order. The scent is very light lime and the bar has a yellow/green color. Does have a high butter/oil content though and has a strange consistancy once applied.

Prep: hot bath, lavender crystals, MWF (as shampoo bar), African Black Soap, pre shave soap mix, hot towel
Razor: Razorock Hawk SE
Blade: Feather Pro Guard
Brush: Yaqi 26mn synthetic
Soap: Turtleship Pine
Post: B&M Taigia A/S

Oh man what a refreshing shave! Decided to soak in a hot bath this morning, even though it may seem a bit girly, it feels great for the joints. And helps soften the whiskers a bit. Also went with a hot towel (something i never do) but figured it couldnt hurt.

Turtleship is one of my favorite soap bases. Just take a look at the ingredients, LOADED with skin food and good stuff. Some people complain about their scents, although i personally have no problems with the ones i have tried (Pine, Te Java, Patchouli, Bay Rum) and the scents get stronger once lathered. The Pine scent is not overly heavy as pine scents can be sometimes, but once lathered was about 6.5/10 and had no problem detecting scent at all.

Performance is off the charts. Even residual slickness was top notch. Was able to do touch ups and face was still slick even after rinsing, this is a trait many artisans are lacking IMO. Post shave is crazy good as well. Paired beautifully with Taigia A/S. Really miss this Latha pine line, ingredient list is rediculous for how inexpensive this stuff was. Very happy with the results from todays shave, and hope y'all had a similar experience!

P.S. here is a quick lather shot. Turtleship is so good i felt it deserved a pic (even though its a bad shot in poor lighting lol).

Man, here I thought the best ship was friendship! I guess Turtleship is giving it a run for its money!

Great looking lather, excellent shave SW!

Nice shave SW. Never tried Turtleship before but have heard of them. They have the cool brush handles with gears and stuff in them right ?

Only shot I gave Turtleship was a coffee or tea scented soap which just didn't jive. Was so long ago I can't remember the performance at all.

Thanks!

Yea those gear brushes are really cool. I mostly stick with cheap synthetic brushes, but would consider getting one of those as a upgrade.

The Te Java scent doesnt really smell like tea to my nose. It is a sweet smelling scent thats not for everyone. Their Bay Rum has been my favorite so far, it is a unique cologne type bay rum.

Prep: Musgo Real Classic
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
Blade: Pol-Silver
Brush: Yaqi 26mm Synthetic
Soap: Musgo Real Hard Puck
Post: Musgo Real Balm, Brut Special Reserve EDT

Very nice shave this morning with Musgo Real. This is the most recent formula of this triple milled soap and a solid performer, its a shame they discontinued it. Scent is pretty close to the cream ( some say the soap has a heavier lavender note) but they all have that great classic scent IMO.

Performance is excellent and is my favorite triple milled soap by far. Whipped up a super thick lather with about 40sec load time. Lather holds a good amount of water, and has a consistancy similar to Tabac. Very stoked about the results from todays shave, balm was soothing, and the scent of Musgo Real paired beautifully with Brut.

Hope everyone had a swell shave!
