Rich's Journal: Adventures with Life and Sharp things

Fixed it. Yep could have been bad. Today’s session was really something. I actually leaked out a couple of tears.

SWMBO passed another edict regarding shaving operations. I am not to use open blades whilst under the influence of narcotic substances. Probably sound judgement on her part. Today I am eager to get to the Ghost Banana. I’ve been thinking on it since sniffing the tub yesterday. Visions of minions and chimpanzees dance through my fevered mind.

The Hardware: The Gillette Milord occupies a rather peculiar position in Gillette’s product line... more than a Super Speed, but not quite a diplomat. An optioned out Nova. It was essentially a gold plated Super Speed. It’s pretty lean, and from a cursory look seems to be a 1949. It’s in the kind of condition that one might consider having it plated, but then what would you have? A gold plated Super Speed. Mechanically it’s a dream and locks up great. Everything is as it should be. And paired with the reliable Semogue, i got it goin’ on gear wise.

The Shave: I am sober as a judge writing this part of my journal, having passed out last time. CBL Ghost Banana loads and lathers like no other soap. It’s one of those ‘you gotta have some’ kind of soaps that even if you aren’t wild about the smell of bananas, you will probably still like it. Broad weather band and very slick and Chris’ secret herbs and spices to get that frosty feel as it sits on your face. Definitely a keeper. DFS+ in 3 passes and cleanup,

This all started with playing with the pre-shave cube. I rubbed it dry on a damp face and I got to wondering what would it do if I ran the brush over the bit of soap deposited on my face. Well, my brothers, it raised one heckuva lather and it did a darned good job of it to boot! I had intended to use the last bit of a sample soap so my lathering bowl was occupied so this turned out into one of my rather rare face-lathering experiences. To make things a little bit more interesting, I was a little loopy from pain medications!

The Hardware: The Game Changer can and does deliver a great shave with even marginal. I assume this to be a Personna blade due to the container from whence it came, although what vintage it is I don't know. It did a pretty darned good job. The Oz Brush is a solid performer and brought the pre-shave soap to a great lather and contributed to a great shave experience

The Shave: This was a fun shave! The Trans Galactic Cube only indicated activated charcoal, Prickly Pear, Menthol, and Aloe as possible scent notes, so I went with B&M's 43 line to keep with the campy space name theme. Between the excellent lather, and the new blade, I achieved a DSBBS in 3+ passes. Probably the first of the year. A very enjoyable shave and I enjoy cracking myself up with weird thoughts sometimes!

I do love that EDT. I found out the hard way that it gets pretty pungent in the hotter weather lol.

nice stuff Rich, I was wondering wear that cactus out of my front yard went
