Razorock Game Changer

That would be the same for me. I know I like a milder plate than that rough and tumble Dave.

The Muhle R41 gave a superb shave that nearly lasted 16 hours with just a feint hint of stubble that showed up at about 11:30 this morning. So, this evening at 7:30, the stubble was still light but it was in full mode all over. Out came the GC .84 with the Super Knurl. Slapped the same Gillette Silver Blue from last night and nothing but smooth sailing. No irritation, nics, weepers, cuts, nada. The GC is a finely made tool that will give a man an honestly good comfy and close shave. Just a smooth and clean finish that set me up for a 3 finger serving of The MACALLAN Triple Casked Scotch 12 year vintage. Just as good or better than the shave. Life is good.....

Great write-up, Gus. Temptation got to me early on the .84 plate after trying the .68 plate....they're both complementary to each other; the .68 for those days that you want to: A) have a thought and care free shave and B) might not have the amount of growth to substantiate a more aggressive razor. The .84 is great for multiple days growth without losing hardly ANY of the smoothness of the .68. It can easily be used as a daily driver without any worry about irritation or over-shaving/over-use. The efficiency level is enough over the .68 to be worth having as a complement.

Agree 100%. I don’t speak much of the .68 gap base plate but, that is also a very fine shaver. It’s the one that got it all started. And honestly, one of the best shaves I’ve ever given myself came at he hands of the GC .68 with a KAI SS blade. Supremely smooth yet deceptively efficient. For me a great combination. Happy shaves....

My experience with the .68 vs. .84 hasn’t been so much mildness, rather in the ‘sweet spot’ of the angle where it cuts most effectively. I was fortunate to contact RR before the restock and they had a couple rogue .68 plates lying around. I do like having the set, and will be eyeing the OC’s closely.

I got your Mamba when it first came out and it was the smoothest and most efficient razor I owned. When the Game Changer came out, I immediately got one. I had high hopes for it, but it disappointed me because it was a rougher shave than the Mamba and not as efficient. When the Mamba 70 came out, I did not see how the Mamba shave could improve, but I was proven wrong as it was just as smooth but more efficient than the original. When the GC 84 came out, I hesitated for a long time thinking that if the original had a rougher shave than the Mamba, a more aggressive version would be worse. It took me until now to finally break down and get one. I shaved with it tonight and was again proven wrong. The bigger blade gap actually made the shaving more efficient and so it was not as rough as the original GC and I got a closer shave with less passes. Tomorrow night I am bringing out my Mamba 70 for a shave off.
