Oh my, I run with a tough crowd. Ok, here ya go …

The Deets-
So … kinda stalled on the Stirling 3017. A need for variety took over and my kit has been oh so random. Just mixing it up … good times.

Outside of shaving, not much going on. Still working on applying oil coats on the wooden shave bowl. But, I get sidetracked easily. I’ve also been knocking out various honey-do’s. Uh … trash pick up is on Fridays. I think I may have mentioned that I got a promotion at work. This past week was my first official week, complete with moving my junk into an office. Oh … and the stepson and I were on an East Texas lake all day yesterday. So I got a bit of sun too. Our next fishing tournament is this coming Saturday. And the most important bit of news. I am taking vaca for a week, starting Monday. Just a few days of staycation to unwind a bit. I am going to try and spread that out more during the year. The end of the year rush to get vacation in, is a bit rushed. I think you are caught up now my friend.

The Deets-
So … I have been using this setup for the last few days. I may have mentioned before that I am smitten with this aftershave and it has a permanent place in my rotation. Onto the shave. Today was an early afternoon shave and I’ll add some color below. As you know, I am a fan of MWF as well and a catastrophe was avoided today. I had a few inches of hot water in the sink and was loading up the Fat from it’s bowl, that’s when it happened. The ceramic bowl slipped from my hand and landed in the sink, with the sickening sound of ceramic on ceramic … my heart sank. I gave the bowl a quick rinse and look over … crisis avoided. I guess a few inches of water was enough to slow down the bowl before impact. Whew …

I hit the Notovan with 20 laps on linen and 60 laps on leather. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Three luxurious passes and I was BBS for the win! Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse, a splash of WH and a healthy splash of the aftershave. And you know, everything was right as rain.

Home Front-
Unfortunately, my short stayca wrapped up on Friday. And yesterday was our fishing tournament. Up at 2:00a and headed out the door at 2:30a … yuck. Did I mention that I’m not a morning person? Fished a good part of the day and came in middle of the pack. No joy. Finally got home about 7:00p for dinner with the missus. Had a shower and shave and I was toast. I way overslept today, I guess I was more tired than I thought. But the late shave today brought everything back into focus. Life is good!
