The Process-
TGIF ... am I right? So today's shave is a bit different from my norm. I am bowl lathering, which I normally only do when using samples. I am using a cream, which I have only done a couple of times when I first started traditional shaving. And lastly, I am using a synthetic brush, which you don't see often either. I prefer natural hair brushes over synthetic. So today I am trying a cream that was generously sent to me by @Luecke3262. When I began lathering in the bowl, I realized that I had too much water. But I kept working it and whipped up a nice lather. The lather itself has a nice light scent that reminds me of Nivia aftershave. I suck at describing scents, so that's all you get. The lather is not real dense, but it's not bad either.

I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. That was a really nice shave. Although the lather wasn't as thick as some, it worked very well. It was light on the skin and the pleasant scent held throughout the shave. It was three easy peasy passes and I am BBS for the win! The slickness and residual slickness was not bad and built throughout the shave. I had whipped up enough for a post shave lather while I cleaned my shave gear too. The lather rinsed easily, leaving a nice clean feeling. Very nice!

Wrapped everything up with a splash of water and a pat dry. A healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! Yes ... it surely was. I am ready to wrap this work week up. Life is good!

Home Front-
So it has taken several days, but we finally caught the opossum in a live trap. He was a pain to catch, as you can imagine since it has taken several days. When we moved into the house, it had the washer in the garage and the dryer in a separate room next to the garage. Most odd. So I punched a hole in the wall, about the size of an outlet wall plate and ran the water and drain hoses into the laundry room. Well this opossum had found that hole and that is where he was camping out. He would come out at night and we found him in several places in the garage, but couldn't catch him before he ran back into that hole and up inside the wall. He also wouldn't eat what we baited the trap with. We just happen to catch him by chasing him around the garage. He accidentally ran into the trap and locked itself him. Thank goodness. He has now been relocated to another area, several miles away, for him to go on his way. I think that's all I have today. Have a great day.
My view on the Modum products is right in line with yours, the lather is nothing to write home about, the scents are really very pleasant, and the slickness and RS is about average. It'll get the job done. Iryna smiled when I showed her the picture, her mom sent me 10 of these tubes a while back and I've been trying to use them up. Her mom was about to send me more before Iryna stopped her lol. They are sending me some TDS Shaving soap this time around(also made in Belarus), it looks like great stuff. I'll have to send you a sample of that too!

When I was a bachelor, I didn't really care where I lived, so I rented a cabin way out in the woods for 3 years. I was constantly fighting with opossums getting in my trash... One evening I went out to take a puff on my pipe, when I noticed the trash bag moving(I had just placed it on my screened in front porch 30 min earlier). Sure enough there was an opossum in it. I fought with it for at least 30 minutes, trying to get it off the porch(it was a nasty one).... It was not budging, so he ended up at the other end of my .22....Being raised in the country in a poor family, we never wasted anything, so I decided to throw him in my crockpot and have him for dinner the next day. It was not as tasty and I had thought it would be, greasy and extremely unappetizing. Trapping is a much better option!

I’d like to try that TDS shave soap.

My grandma was old school like that. She would have a rabbit in one hand and a hammer in the other, heading out to an old tree stump. We would be having “chicken” for dinner. I think I’d pass on the crookpot ‘possum.

Great late morning shave today. I may have forgot to mention that I am off work this week and just chilling. Anyway I was looking through razors yesterday and decided that I need to thin the herd a bit on the DE side and get down to five razors. So time to try a few again and find my five favorite vintage. The Gillette Slim, 1960 Tech and Old Type are in, so I have two slots to fill from the remaining vintage. I got a vintage Rooney brush the other day and had to give it a go. Soaked the tips for a few minutes while I got everything ready. I like this brush. It runs on the smaller side at 22mm, but it works well. It has thinner hair like a Zenith and is pliable. Has a bit of scritch, which is nice too. It made quick work of The Fat and I was ready to shave.

I went with my standard three passes of WTG,XTG and ATG with no drama to report. That was a fantastic shave! Three easy peasy passes and I am BBS for the win! The Fatboy moved effortlessly along and eliminated that stubble efficiently, without any blade feel. Even had a bit left for a post shave lather while I cleaned my shave gear.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! Oh yes it was. It’s going to be hard to reduce the DE count. Hm. I also find that I am digging the smaller brushes as well, so there may be a brush purge coming as well. Life is good!

It was my day off, but had an early morning shave today. Had to get up bright and early for a day trip. Great shave and I left the house BBS and ready to hit the road. More on that in another post. Life is good!
