The Process-
Nice late morning shave today is brought to you by the letter “F”. Because it’s freakin’ miserable outside. It’s 54 degrees and raining ... yuck.
So the Hyashi had been on a road trip to get honed by
@BarberDave. He used a Coti/Ark progression at my request. I have an SB Ark and wanted to know how a good SB edge should feel like. My soap/AS choice was because of the weather. I loaded the soap with a 20 second load time and that was too much. I probably could have stopped at 10 or 15. I had a ton of wet, slick lather.
40 laps on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. The razor did it’s thang, singing all the way. The edge is not as buttery smooth as a JNat, but it’s not harsh either. I think my SB will be a good finisher, delivering a smooth comfortable shave. Had a ton if lather left for a post shave lather while I cleaned my shave gear.
Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! Hm ... well a Summer rain. I’m clean shaved, smelling great and ready for my day off. Life is good!
