The Process-
Very nice early morning shave. I may have forgot to mention that I am taking a stay-cation this week. Just to untie knots built up at work. So the Monday and Tuesday shaves were late morning. Had to get the missus up and out the door today. She is going to spend a couple of days helping her daughter withe the new baby. Anyway, onto the shave. I went with a 20 second load time and really should have gone 30. I may have had a bit too much water because the last pass lather was rather weak.

10 laps on cotton and 40 on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. All three passes were smooth and relaxing. I mentioned the weak lather on the third pass, but threw more water at it and had the slickness to keep going. I did score a BBS for the win too! No lather left for a post shave.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. A healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! You know it. That was a great choice to start the day. Life is good!

Home Front-
As I mentioned, the dogs and I are on our own for a few days. Just kinda goofing this week and trying to knock out some honey-dos. Mom is starting to get better, so that’s a relief. My knee is also doing better. Finally a large yellowish bruise showd up. I can kneel and squat slowly and just have dull pain instead of sharp stabbing pain. I need a bit an assist getting back up, but I’ll take that. I think that’s all I have for today.

The Process-
Very nice late morning shave today. Everything was hitting on all cylinders and it only took a 15 second load time to whip up a nice, slick, great smelling lather.

Grabbed the Ralf Aust and took it for a spin. I really dig the razor and it delivered an easy and smooth BBS for the win! I also had a ton of lather left for a post shave lather. Finished up with the usual and a healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! The CK 6 formula does a great job and the post shave feel is very nice. Life is good!

Home Front-
I am done with my acquisition disorders. I have been doing some trades over the last couple of weeks and picked up a few things that I enjoy. Got rid of a few things I didn’t. As far as purchases, I haven’t fared so well. A giant GFT Badger that you could paint walls with. Then a Yaqi Familia and Simpson 46 brush and they are toddler size. I guess the Simpson did me in. I love the Ralf Aust, but am disappointed in the scales and the blatant deception that the seller used. Then I bought the Simpson and it was a lot smaller than I expected for the price tag. Piss on it, I have enough hardware to use. I do have some soaps I will buy in the future, but other than that I am done.

That’s how I have been feeling lately, but I keep itching for one more brush and straight. Maybe I am not quite as done with my AD’s...

A bum deal will always cause you to reset and reassess your needs and desires and ultimate goals, a good knockout deal will put you back on track to enjoying the hobby.

The Process-
What is better than a Sandalwood shave? A hot lather Sandalwood shave. It was a balmy 56 degrees this morning ... crap, I’m ready for Summer. Anyway, I think this is a Janes Kent scuttle that I picked up last year. Didn’t really play with it much, but it got the nod today. I can sum the shave up in two words ... freakin’ awesome! Soaked the brush in hot water for a bit. Went with a 30 second load time and reheated the water in the scuttle. Lathered up and it was most awesome. Set the brush on the top of the scuttle during passes and it stayed nice and warm. Man that was some goodness right there.

I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Very easy, smooth passes and the scent of the Sandalwood filled the air. The razor made quick work of things, with the familiar scraping of toast sound as it laid waste to the stubble. I even had a bit of warm lather left for a post shave lather while I cleaned my shave gear.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! That was outstanding and I am ready for the day! Life is good!

Home Front-
Not a lot to report, my stay-cation wrapped up Friday and it went entirely too quick. Today I will be hanging a light for my workbench. May goof around with a few other things in the garage. @BarberDave is putting a Coti/Ark edge on my H Diamond razor. I can’t wait to try that edge. That will give me something to shoot for with my SB Ark. I think that’s all I have for you today.
