Had a very nice shave this morning. Mixed the kit up a bit and brought out The Fat. I haven't used it in a bit and it performs very will for me. I did have to bloom it because it hasn't been used lately. Loaded for 30 seconds with a damp brush and had plenty of nice, slick lather to work with.

10 laps on cotton and 50 on the leather again today and then onto business. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. That was a very nice, smooth shave and I am BBS for the win! I haven't timed it yet, but I think I have knocked a bit of time off my straight shaves. Anyway, I had a bit of lather left for a post shave while I cleaned my shave gear.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. A glug of the AS and everything was right as rain! Man, I really dig the scent of that AS. Another great start to the day and we are wrapping up the work week. Life is good!

The Process-
Late morning shave today. I was really looking forward to trying this soap. I have never tried this vendor or a vintage soap, so it should be double cool. Soaked the brush in hot water while I got ready. Hit it with a thirty second load time with a damp brush and started working the lather. The scent was faint on the puck but built up a bit while lathering. This missus can smell leather, but I smell citrus and herb.

10 laps on cotton and 50 on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. The scent carried through two passes and I lost it on the last pass. There wasn’t a ton of slickness, but enough to work with. There didn’t seem to be any residual slickness at all. Made the shave and had a bit if lather left for the post shave while I cleaned my shave gear.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. The soap rinses clean, but you don’t feel like your skin is moisturized, just clean. Followed that up with a healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain. The Avon was good pairing with this soap. That was only my first go, so we’ll see how things progress as I use the soap more. Life is good!

Home Front-
My mom is no better, but no worse. Still waiting on test results. She is in a bad way though. There had been various delays, but finally got the round pen setup yesterday. Man, my quads are telling me that I haven’t been to the gym in a while. Well, that’s all I got for ya.

Really sorry to hear about your mom. I hope things get sorted out. In the meantime I will say a prayer and keep her in my thoughts.

AS: Stirling One

The Process-
Early morning shave today. Stirling One hasn’t been on deck in a while, so it got the nod. Kept the same razor and Fluffy’s edge is still going strong. Decided to show the Semogue a bit of love today too. A 20 second load time whipped up some great smelling goodness.

10 laps on cotton and 50 on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. That was a very nice shave and I am BBS for the win! Yup, that was some good stuff right there. I don’t have to tell you about the performance of Stirling ... it is very good. The scent carried through the entire shave and wa very nice. Had a bit of lather left for the post shave while I cleaned my shave gear too.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a glug of the AS and everything was right as rain! Yes ... yes it was. I smell awesome and ready for the day. Life is good!

Home Front-
Well yesterday was going ok until I fell. Banged up my shoulder, knee and head. It was evening and thought I had walked it off. This morning, my knee is in a real bad way. Have it wrapped and elevated and hope that works. Man 2020 sucks!

Sorry to hear about your fall. I hope the elevation helps!

Fell? Were you drinking the AS? 🤪

If it's swollen I wouldn't wrap it, use a cool pack.

Is this what you were doing?

You'll be fine in a couple of days. You're not as spry as you once were, but they don't make milk crates like you anymore. Definitely see a doctor if things don't get better by the weekend.

And nice shave!
