Early(ish) morning shave. I was up on time, but got sidetracked with YouTube videos. I was wrapped up in some blown Chevy motors with electronic exhaust diverter. Way too cool. Anyway, I was a bit behind schedule, so another DE got the nod. On deck today was the Gillette New LC, a very pleasant razor indeed. This one is not a real looker, but everything is straight and it shaves nice. Stayed with Stirling and broke out the Deton-8. Sounded like a good choice for the day. The badger whipped up a really nice lather with a 30 second load time.

I broke from the norm and went with a two pass shave of WTG and ATG with no drama to report. So I was pressed for time and mixing things all up, so the shave was a tad lacking. Nothing dramatic, but I missed a bit on the jaw line. So we will call this shave a DFS+. The lather was great and performed as you would expect from Stirling. And with a 30 second load time, I had plenty left for a post shave while I cleaned the shave gear. Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and a pat dry. Followed that with a healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! Yup, I'm digging this scent and it was a great choice to start the week off. Life is good!

Home Front -
So last week I had a lazy staycation and it was nice. I didn't really get anything accomplished. The weekend went way too fast, but I got a few things accomplished. Hung some lights for my dad. I also spent a good chunk of time on Saturday cleaning up a virus that the missus picked up on the computer. It was a Chrome pop-up virus and we caught it before it could do too much damage, but they are a pain to deal with. Also had dinner with Deb's oldest son last night. It was good to have some time to untie the knots, so to speak, and then get back in the groove again.
Great read sir

Early morning shave today and had more time this morning. I enjoyed the shave yesterday. So I went ahead and kept most of the same setup for today, with the only change being the brush. I am really digging the TGN knot in this brush and it's breaking in nicely. Used the standard 30 second load time and the Stirling worked it's magic, whipping up a really nice lather.

I went with my standard three pass shave of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Once again the New LC delivered. That was a very nice shave and I am BBS for the win! Great, slow relaxing shave and I am once again ready for the day. I also had plenty of lather for a post shave while I cleaned the shave gear.

Early morning shave and changed up the setup. Grabbed a soap that I haven't used in a while, which was B&M Hallows. This is my third use of this set and I had set it aside to try again at a later time. With the first two uses, I didn't care for it and thought I could set it aside and maybe change my mind later ... hm. Off the puck I get a dark, spicy type of scent and there is something else lingering in the background. Not sure what that is. I went with a typical 30 second load time and it did whip up a nice lather.

I went with my standard three pass shave of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. During the shave, it maintained the same scent. I had read that it may take several lathers before it really opens up. But for this shave the scent remained the same. The slickness and residual were fine and the SR didn't have any issues taking care of business. The TGN knot is doing great. It is breaking in nicely and no shedding. Three nice passes and I was BBS for the win! I even had enough lather left for a post shave while I cleaned my shave gear.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and a pat dry. Followed that with a splash of the AS and everything was ... what the crap did I just splash on my face?! The scent of the AS is a lot different than the soap. It was loud, obnoxious and dark. It was dank and reeked of decay. At least to my untrained nose, so YMMV. I can see why there might be a love/hate thing going on with people who have tried this soap/AS. And to think the soap may lean more towards this when lathered more. Man, this stuff stinks, but in spite of that ... Life is good!
