Ramblings of a MilkCrate

Nice shave, Tim! What compelled you to change up the handling when going atg?

The Shave-
Typical late morning shave today. I don’t go to a Barber Shop, but why not smell like one. On deck is LNHC Barber Shoppe. A very good soap and it has a pleasant scent that is similar to GTB. A 15 second load time and I had plenty to work with. It started out a bit wetter than I wanted, but it did settle down and produced a very nice lather.

10 laps on cotton and 40 laps on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Another very nice shave! No experimenting today, just a nice relaxing shave and I am DFS for the win! These scales are also a smidge loose, so I’ll fix that today. Also had lather to spare for a post shave while I cleaned my shave gear.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a couple of squirts of the ASB and everything was right as rain! This one takes a few minutes to absorb, but delivers really good post shave properties. Hm ... what to do today? Life is good!

Well, I was waiting to be treated like a king for a day. That didn’t happen, so just goofing with stuff in the garage.
I guess sometimes being treated like a king is just having people leave us alone, to our own devices, for some uninterrupted hours?

The Shave-
Back to the early morning shaves again and today seemed like a good day for Sandalwood. I've had this Fine soap for some time but haven't used it. I was waiting to get the matching AS, but that hasn't panned out yet, so it got the nod anyway. I love the scent of this soap, it has a nice warm vibe to it. It differs from Proraso Red in that the Red seems a bit sharper and ends will a light powder note. Still good stuff. One day I'll pick up the Fine AS. Hit it for a 20 second load time and got after it. Built up a nice lather and I really dig this scent.

10 laps on cotton and 40 laps on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. I spent that shave just engulfed in some Sandalwood goodness ... man that's some good stuff. Another nice shave and I am BBS for the win! I haven't tweaked that hinge pin yet, but I probably will today. Again lather to spare for a post shave while I cleaned my shave gear.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! That's it right there. Life is good!

The Shave-
Early morning shave today and I was a bit behind schedule. Leaned a bit towards the fancy side with Ethos and a badger brush. You are familiar with the performance of Ethos, so I won’t go into that. I whipped up a really good lather that was nice and wet. The only thing that could make it better is the custom SV brush that will be coming soon. Can’t wait.

The seller claimed “shave ready” on this razor and it did cut arm hair nicely at 1/4”. So it was sanitized, 10 laps on cotton and 40 laps on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. The edge is nice on this razor and it made quick work of the scruff. It also sings at a higher pitch, which is kinda cool. It made for an excellent shave and I am BBS for the win! Yeah baby! Had lather to spare for a post shave while I cleaned my shave gear

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! Yes it was. I really enjoyed that shave and I am really pleased with the new razor, it was worth the wait. Life is good!
