The Shave-
Early morning shave today and I mixed the kit up just a bit. I went with an AS change and a brush change. I am testing a Techichi brush with a Cashmere knot. The knot is a bit thinner than the Hive Tuxedo and I was a bit concerned that it might be too floppy. When wet, the knot appears really skinny. Loaded the brush for 20 seconds and it didn’t have near the lather that the Hive had either. Went to lather and found that my brush was way too wet. I started with painting strokes and alternated with scrubbing/swirling strokes. The lather began building thicker and thicker. As it did, the volume of the knot expanded as well.

I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. I tried to stay focused on the brush not the shave. The knot did a really good job of building and working the lather. It surprised me with good backbone as well. Even though I have had both of these brushes way too wet, the Haslinger delivered. It was another glorious shave and I am BBS for the win! As a bonus, I still had plenty of lather for my post shave lather while I cleaned the shave gear.

Wrapped everything up with quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! Yes ... yes it was. A great shave to start off the week. Life is good!

Home Front-
Pup is still in the puppy hospital on IVs. As far as I know, we haven’t heard anything yet, so fingers crossed. @bentheduck will be happy to know that the missus has been hydrating and was able to pass several stones. Just one more to go. I think that’s all I have at the moment.

Just catching up Tim and nice reviews of the brushes! I am really sorry to hear about your pup. I've had mine pretty sick a time or two and that is no fun at all. I'm glad the missus has passed the majority of her stones. I am sending prayers she's able to get rid of the last one and prayers for your pup.

Thanks brother! Prayers are always welcome.

The Shave-
Early morning shave today and I was a bit pressed for time, so a DE got the nod. Also on deck was a newly acquired soap, Stirling Gentleman. To my nose it has a warm, soft scent. Loaded it up for 30 seconds and whipped up a really nice lather, with no surprise from Stirling.

I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. That was a very nice shave and I am BBS for the win! I did lose the scent during the shave, but that could have been my sinuses. I once again had plenty of lather for a post shave lather while I cleaned my shave gear.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a splash of the WH and everything was right as rain! The shave that is, it’s hard to get excited about straight witch hazel. Anyway, a quick, no frills shave to start the day. Life is good!
