The Jinhao definitely out punches it's weight class. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this pen!Fancy!

I appreciate the thoughts other Dave. But I'm holding off on spending until I see if I can chase these razors on eBay I wanted. Plus for Black Friday coming upI think @Dave in KY mentioned looking at the Studio in Olive. There's one in Goulet's bottom shelf at the moment. (BOTTOM SHELF) LAMY Studio Fountain Pen - Olive (Special Edition)

I've been wanting a pen like that. Love the looks of it.My next one. A celluoid pen with a soft XF gold nib from the 50s.

I have licked my finger and used that to wet the tip to get one flowing that had sat a while. Worked fine after that. If you just filled it then maybe the feed needs cleaning out?So ... how do you jump start a pen when it won’t start writing? Do I have the wrong ink?
I'm new but a little shake in a downward motion careful what your shaking at helped me. That $8 pen seems to not like it's cap off if not writing for a few minutes and needs encouragement.I have licked my finger and used that to wet the tip to get one flowing that had sat a while. Worked fine after that. If you just filled it then maybe the feed needs cleaning out?
A little bit of extra pressure on the nib while holding it in place on a piece of paper (not trying to write, just holding pressure), a little drizzle of warm water across the nib, hold a paper towel to the feed behind the nib...So ... how do you jump start a pen when it won’t start writing? Do I have the wrong ink?
This one was made by a Danish company named Hoover. Parker made some Vacumatics with a very similar pattern in the 40s.I've been wanting a pen like that. Love the looks of it.
It depends on what is causing the issue. If it happened right after you put in a cartridge, then it is probably that it hasn't been able to saturate the feed yet. A few shakes will help. If it has been inked, but stopped writing, then a quick dip of the tip in water could work. If this doesn't work let me know.So ... how do you jump start a pen when it won’t start writing? Do I have the wrong ink?
