The picture is a lie. I was planning on using the Essence but when I was done with the 1st pass I realized I grabbed a different razor. Not sure what's going on, but this sure feels like a Friday. I went and checked Gear's journal. No Friday determination there yet.

It's sad days of our cat that now needs to get medicine twice a day. She's never liked to be held and has always been twitchy and on edge. She also doesn't eat anything but their dry food so we can't bribe her to take pills in treats. The result is us having to grab her in her rare moments of wanting to be close to us and put some cream in her ear to be absorbed. So now she doesn't even hang out on the couch with us in the evenings and left the bed before we woke up this morning.

You do understand that your role in your cat’s life is to feed/pet/shelter/protect/snuggle (ONLY when appropriate), don’t you? Evidently you have crossed a boundary that cannot, and will not ever be forgiven. Godspeed.

We're on the home stretch. Doing the walkthru of the house Wednesday after work and getting the keys back. Demolition starts on the kitchen Friday morning. Internet install, appliance delivery, and carpet measuring all set for Saturday. Sanders reserved for Sunday for floor sanding. Other than that mostly packing this weekend between breaks. We finished Dept Q on Netflix, that was a good but short series. Hoping it's just the start of more seasons. Then we started watching True Detective with Woody Harrelson and Mathew McConaughey. So far it's been good with an interesting story telling style.

Be careful what you wish for. I've been thinking at least one positive of moving back to our house is making improvements for the sense of accomplishment. Did the walk thru with the renters yesterday and got the keys back. Nothing you wouldn't expect. The cleaning wasn't the best, but the house is getting tore up anyway. Carpets are very worn, but we already planned on replacing them. And then realizing that basically 5 years of little fixes and maintenance have built up. Already on the list from initial looking was repainting the garage door, repainting the front door, dealing with the weed issue in the front, cleaning and repainting the gutters, repainting several spots inside. Then I did a detailed walk around every inch outside. I found that a tree which was next to the nice shed out back, had grown enough to be pushing against the side and roof and split open the side of the shed. Awesome. So add to the list emptying out that side of the shed to check for damage to stuff. Luckily right in that area was the old bed frames for the girls' bed which will just go to the dump anyway. Then deciding if I tackle dealing with the tree or get landscapers to come do it. Then, we get frustrating calls from the youngest who was at the house last night to show a friend, that the garage door opener wasn't working. I find out this morning when I go to drop off boxes that it's the garage door opener not working, because there isn't power now to a whole circuit in the garage which was fine yesterday. The breaker wasn't tripped and resetting it doesn't do anything. Good times. I figure maybe the fridge that was sitting out there unused for 5 years might be aged enough to have pulled a large load and blew something. So now add an electrician to the list.

I forget where we left off on the home stories. Friday the demo was started and completed on the kitchen. Saturday was cable/internet install, measuring for wood floors and carpets, and delivery of the appliances. Sunday was a disaster of an experience with sanding the floor in the future cigar lounge. If you would have just joined the cadre Zoom call, you could have heard all about it. But with @Smattayu telling me to swallow my pride and @pipingtenor2570 being concerned he wouldn't be able to shoot marbles or something on my floor, I did go after work on Monday and get a drum sander and did the majority of the sanding. I say majority in area, not time. Getting the edges and corners lasted into yesterday. But today I go there after work, do a final clean for sawdust, and then lay the first coat of polyurethane down. Given the time I have to work on it and travel this weekend, it might not get done until next Monday or Wednesday, but at least we're back on track. Yesterday the hardwood was installed in the kitchen and dining room and carpet in the other two bedrooms.
