Medical - MIL had a successful stenting and was booted home the day after. She agreed to cut back to working half-time but she doesn't want to quit because then she would be just sitting around the house. I took my wife to her post-op appointment yesterday and we were hoping he might be able to stop wearing her cervical collar. Nope, she's in that thing for another 6 weeks. Pretty bummed because apparently, that's a big contributor to the muscle spasms that cause pain every day. But medically, the healing is going as it should.
Holidays - Had Ruldolph riding my butt this week, so that was fun. Have a few boxes of presents still to ship out so I need to get those wrapped and packed so I can ship them tomorrow. Finished up lights on the front of the house yesterday and then did a row of lights on the back deck. I somehow seem to have run out of extension cords so I need to figure out routing power to the deck railing. I think some of the kids might have taken cords with them when they left the house.
Work—I got assigned to be co-chair of our Medical Ethics committee. I've been a member for years and received the training during COVID to decide who would get the ventilators if we ran out. Thank goodness we never had to play that role! But this is still an area I'm nowhere near as strong in as the physicians on the committee, so in 2025 I'll have my professional goals related to more training in this area. Lastly, this has been an exceptionally strong Cobb salad week. Three lunches covered by salads and today one to take home for dinner.
