Sweet Georgia Brown what a busy weekend!!

Firstly, it was to get all the Christmas stuff rollin'. Totes up from the storage area, go get a tree, put up said tree, decorate said tree, help get the Christmas villages up and the Halloween one put away, start decorating the house, and start getting the lights on the house. Couple things this year. As usual, we went to Home Depot to get our tree. They were having a Black Friday sale of some types of trees and we could get one half off! We could I say. We didn't. Wife didn't care for those and wanted the type we usually get. And so it was. The tree we got has some nice full branches at the bottom. I would normally remove these to ensure there is enough exposed trunk to set well in the stand and provide gift space (and space for my stomach to slide under the tree to water) under the tree. But the next set of branches was a little thin, so they had to stay. This means our tree (8' tall) isn't sitting firmly on the spike at the bottom of the base and is potentially somewhat suspended being held up by the four screws. It seems to be fine, but I think for the next month I'll be watching closely for leaning to start. Then with the house lights, I use these plastic clips that somehow a ton of them from last year seem to be missing. I was able to jury-rig the ones I have to get all the lights up in their spots, but had to order more to correctly mount about a full string of them so I'll have to be up on the ladder again to fix them tomorrow.

Movies. We started a new movie thing. I bought one of those Top 100 Movies" poster where you scratch off the movies you've seen so you track the ones you still need to watch. How they determine they are the best 100 I dunno. But my wife and I have almost as much trouble deciding what to watch as we do deciding what's for dinner. So we agreed we would watch them in order they are in the poster with some rules. Even if we've seen them a bunch before, we still have to watch it again as part of this. If it's not free to stream for us, we can skip and it and come back hoping it might be added in the meantime. The first movie was A Few Good Men, which we've seen many times of course. But this is the reason we set that rule of having to watch them again. We often catch it half-way through on TV so haven't seen the start for a long time. It's still a great movie. Next up is 12 Years a Slave, which isn't free to stream, so we'll move on to Silence of the Lambs, which my wife isn't thrilled with. But if I'm going to have to sit through some of the snoozers, she can sit through this one again.

More movie stuff. I've been waiting for Twisters to be free to stream to watch it. Finally saw that it was and I asked permission to watch it this weekend as a reward for all my hard work. I usually wait to watch this junk when my wife is gone somewhere. I've been waiting for this so I did it up right. Used my stereo speakers instead of the TV and made BBQ pork/tater tot nachos. Well, even though I had hope, the original Twister was better. Better storyline, better actors, way better music. And this there really a need for the stupid love story line in a movie like this? I can't imagine anyone going to an action movie because she heard there's a great love story in it. Well, now I know anyway.

Well, I made sure to catch up on my journal on Monday and do I get so much as a "good day" from Bruce? No sir, I sure don't. I mean, I know he's busy sitting around and everything, but you would think he could squeeze in a little time. Ya know??
Bougie let Stefan sleep in one day....ONE DAY......and he gets all needy for attention.

(and space for my stomach to slide under the tree to water)
I'm going to need some clarification......are you watering your stomach.......in the space under the tree? And is that how you grow a hairy stomach? Or are you sliding under the tree....pouring water on your stomach and letting it roll off into the basin for the tree?

I'm confused.

The Krinner Tree Genie has probably saved my life when it comes to keeping a tree upright. Uses a pedal system that is so much easier than those screws.

A little more drama yesterday. My MIL has been having episodes of her chest feeling heavy and shortness of breath with exertion. She been seeing docs and getting the ole chassis examined so to speak. She's also one to not make a fuss about thing. Turns out that she had an episode Sunday night that ended up getting the cardiologist to admit her to the hospital for a stenting procedure today. If all goes well she'll be home today or tomorrow. Anyone who *****s about "Western medicine" or conspiracy theories about it being run by pharmaceutical companies can suck a lemon (so you don't get scurvy). The fact they can snake a wire into a specific vessel on the heart and pop it wide open with basically a metal version of the Chinese finger prison toy is hot stuff. Or better yet, doing the same thing in your brain and pull out a clot that was causing stroke. Anyway, I also shaved today.

I had a three vessel CABG 19 months ago, and am more than pleased with the care I received from all involved. I’m happy your MIL got the care that she did. 👍
