I spent two years in the Bay Area and never knew that. It's very common around here. Watching a thunder and lightning storm is very relaxing, if it's far enough off.Got some nifty lightning and thunder as well which is pretty unusual around these parts.
I would love to get it more. The rest of the family doesn't dig it. Probably because they didn't grow up with it.I spent two years in the Bay Area and never knew that. It's very common around here. Watching a thunder and lightning storm is very relaxing, if it's far enough off.
Sitting on our covered patio during a rainstorm is a nice way to spend a summer evening, provided you are stocked with libations and cigars.I would love to get it more. The rest of the family doesn't dig it. Probably because they didn't grow up with it.

I think a lot of people would be terrified of our thunderstorms, haboobs and monsoons. Desert weather is no joke. You want thunderstorms come visit us from July through September

That sounds like a sweet road trip.My family and I took a southwest vacation years ago. Flew to San Antonio, rented a car, then proceeded to drive to San Diego. Along the way we went to Carlsbad Cavern, White Sands, Petrified Forest, Painted Desert, the meteorite site, Las Vegas, then San Diego for a few days. We drove a little more than 3000 miles as we made our way to the west coast. As we traversed NM, NV, and southern CA we experienced and/or witnessed torrential downpours, thunder and lightning storms that were spectacular. Desert weather is certainly dramatic.
