On Saturday we were at Disney’s private island. Sunday was a sea day, but we ended up turning around and going back because Disney’s new ship was docked at the island on their way to Florida for the inaugural cruise. This let us see the new ship and have a horn battle. The video is of the Wish’s horns. We were too low on the ship to get sound from our horns. Universal opinion is the new horns are not good. The other ships have a deeper sound and don’t do the harmonies.

Agreed. A ship should sound like a ship, not a cartoon.
Word on the street is the horns for the low notes broke in a storm on the Atlantic crossing. So should be better in the future.

This is a Newfoundland punt.
The dory has a flatter hull. Now we know.

A punt is square on both ends. Can't find an old pic from the schooners (many used dories instead) but here's a "modern" punt probably from the 70s. The benefit of the punt is that when hauled up to a schooner's deck for stacking/storage at the end of the day, there was no front and back, so it was faster to tie them down for the night.
