Why?!

It is great listening to old ballgames. I like watching old football games, when they tried to take each other's heads off with every tackle.

Nice shave with high end gear!
I'd love to see some football from the 30s. The 30s Uni. Of TN teams were the best going. One team went undefeated, untied, and un-scored upon! I've seen some highlight footage, but I wish I could see a whole game!

Well, my new brush arrived, and my initial impressions are positive. I like the size, density, and softness. I'll give it a use tonight and report back. I'm going to coddle this thing so it outlasts me! For some reason, I can't upload a picture, but you all know what it looks like. There is a picture over in the Brush forum if you're interested. Full report tonight!

Well, tonight was special. After selling a couple of razors to fund the purchase, this shave was the test drive for my new Chubby 2 Super, the first premium brush I've ever owned. I had so many questions. Would I like the amount of scrub, backbone, softness? Would I be able to actually generate lather while following the directions and using only painting strokes? Would it shed a lot of hairs? Did I get a dud? Would I really appreciate the experience to the degree that would justify the expense? I'm very happy - overjoyed really - to report that the answers to these questions are all on the plus side, and I'm content and serene with my purchase.

Prep: Hot shower, Ach Brito Glyce Soap, Proraso Red Pre-shave cream
Razor: Paradigm Diamondback
Blade: Gillette Platinum (2)
Soap: Martin de Candre Agrumes
Brush: Chubby 2 Super
Post-shave: Osma Tradition Alum Block, cold water rinse
After-Shave: Speick

So, yeah, I really like the brush. I hedged my bets on the lather, going with MdC. I loaded with painting strokes instead of swirls, and it actually did load well that way. I did have to reload after the second pass. The brush seems to hold onto the lather pretty tightly. I did no scrubbing, just painting and wiping the lather around the base of the knot onto my cheeks and painting it out. My lather was plenty slick, not super-thick, but I prefer a wet lather to a cloudy one. The brush is really dense compared to my other brushes ( I have three. A Thater Synthetic I like a lot except it can irritate me if I scrub, a Parker Badger I got on Amazon 7 years ago which, for most of that time was my only brush, and a WCS Silvertip that is nice, but not very dense) but it is very soft. For pass four I grabbed the knot at the base and squeezed out a nice facefull of shiny, yogurty lather I applied with my hands. Cleanup involved a pretty thorough rinse and strop of the brush on a towel. I intend to make this brush last for a very long time.

Many thanks to those of you who helped me consider the issues attendant to this purchase. It helped a lot.

The Paradigm continues to impress me. It made the decision to sell the other razors quite easy actually. It, and the Envoy, are possibly my last razor purchases for the foreseeable future.

So it was a great shave. And it didn't shed a hair!

Thanks for reading, and have a great shave!

Frank

I took the day off yesterday from pretty much everything. Today's shave was an orange delight, courtesy of Stirling.

Prep: Hot shower, Ach Brito Glyce Soap, Proraso Red Pre-shave cream
Razor: Paradigm Diamondback
Blade: Gillette Platinum (3)
Soap: Stirling Satsuma
Brush: Parker Long Loft Badger
Post-shave: Osma Tradition Alum Block, cold water rinse
After-Shave: Stirling Satsuma AS

This Satsuma is intense orange goodness. It's a definite warm weather keeper! I can see using it in the dead of winter too, when I need a pick me up. It's definitely a new top tier scent for me. I got 5 Stirling scents in the day before yesterday, and I'm looking forward to trying them all out, but this Satsuma will be hard to beat. Still loving the Diamondback.

Thanks for reading, and have a great shave!

So far my favorite orange forward scent is Seville by B&M, but Satsuma sounds pretty interesting! I may wonder over to Stirling's website for a bit

I really like it. I just ordered a couple of bars of bath soap. I use their black Cherry bath soap, and I'm really looking forward to using Satsuma. I might pull the trigger on the EdT as well!

If you like Satsuma, Pharaoh's Dreamsicle might be up your alley too. It's got a nice easygoing orange creamsicle scent to it. Sorry, I don't think I took my enabler cap off before I went to bed. :ROFLMAO:
