Going with a couple today from American rockers, Puscifer. Hope you enjoy.



Great shave this morning! Returned to RazoRock and their excellent "P.160" shave soap. Wonderful traditional Italian almond / marzipan scent and great lather lather was built with the Semogue SOC boar brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, And Epsilon "03 Amber" aftershave lotion.

It's "Synthwave Saturday" so here's a playlist for you to get your cyberpunk on! Hope you enjoy.


A phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to my vintage Yardley suite of products for what was the best shave of the week, hands down! A very light scent but a simply incredible lather built with the PAA synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Quinn's lavender witch hazel and the matching aftershave lotion, talc & EdC. Yardley is the 🐐, no doubt about it! I've never gotten a bad lather from it.

Great scent with an incredible lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave lotion & Terre d'Hermes EdT.

Great scent with an incredible lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and Paco Rabanne Pour Homme aftershave lotion & EdT.

Another fantastic shave this morning! Returned to ETHOS Grooming Essentials and Frank's phenomenal "Tears of a Dragon" shave soap and splash. A simply incredible scent and lather built with the Wild West Brushworks badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching skin food splash and Paco & Commes des Garcons "Avignon" EdT. Been a while since I last wore the CdG frag. Fantastic scent! A great complementary scent to the TOAD.

Simply incredible shave this morning! Returned to TOBS and their excellent "Oud" shave cream and splash. A beautiful scent and notes of oud, rose and saffron with a great lather built with the Saponificio Varesino badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave splash and Creed "Royal Oud" EdP.

The shaves just keep getting better and better! Any shave this week could be "Best of the Week". Today I returned to CBL Premium Soaps' "Drinks & Daves" shave soap and tonic. A fantastic scent with notes of Leather, Cedar, Fresh Cigars, Charred Cedar, Cigar Smoke & Scotch Whisky. An incredible scent with exceptional lather built with the Ever-Ready synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave tonic and Floris "Islay" EdP.

Closing out the workweek with a couple of classics from Depeche Mode. Hope you enjoy.



A fantastic shave with which to close out the workweek! Returned to Fine Accoutrements and their wonderful ( and sadly, no longer available) "Santal Absolut" shave soap and splash. A fantastic scent with incredible lather built with the Semogue boar brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave splash and Arden Men "Sandalwood" EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Wow! And just like that, we're half way through January. :oops: It's so sad that these triple-milled pucks disappeared. They provide some of the best lather I've used. Luckily, I stockpiled several of this scent along with L'Orange Noir & Lavender Pour Homme before they completely vanished. Unfortunately I couldn't find any of the American Blend. :(

A later than normal shave today, but the results were stellar! Returned to my Valobra-era AoS shave soap. Unscented other than just the base itself, but with an incredible lather built with the Envy Shave badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and vintage Yardley of London "Musk" aftershave lotion. Really like this AS. From a quick Google search, it seems it's from the late 70's. Definitely has that Yardley scent DNA.

Valobra’s AOS soap was phenomenal, I’d pay twice what it was worth for it today! I still have a couple pucks of it, but it’s hard to pull it out of storage.

I have a couple more stored away. Shaves like today’s make me want to use it more often.

A quick two pass shave today since yesterday's was relatively late. Returned to Soap Commander and their excellent "Fortitude" shave soap. Fantastic scent with an incredible lather built with the Wild West Brushworks badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and vintage Avon "Leather" aftershave lotion.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: A cold 38° here today. To make things worse, there's a fairly strong breeze out of the north. Not a cloud in the sky.
