Going with a couple today from Canadian musician / composer / producer, Devin Townsend. Hope you enjoy.



A great start-of-the-workweek shave this morning. Returned to CBL Premium Shave Soap's excellent "Cigar Shop Hombre" shave soap. Fantastic scent with an incredible lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and Aficionado Fragrances' "Cigar Aficionado" aftershave lotion.

A fantastic shave this morning! Returned to PAA and their excellent Crabtree & Evelyn for Men homage, "Crabapple & Newton" product suite. Fantastic Old School scent with an incredible lather built with the Simpson badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Quinn's lavender witch hazel and the matching aftershave & EdP.

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm going with a couple from American electronic duo, Collide Hope you enjoy.



A phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to Crabtree & Evelyn "Mysore Sandalwood" shave soap. Fantastic though light scent with an incredible lather built with the Stirling Soap Co. synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and ETHOS "Mysore Santal" skin food splash & EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: As usual, the forecasting for the upcoming winter weather event is all over the place. Snow. No snow. Ice. Mostly rain.. Seems to change by the hour. :rolleyes:

Another phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to ETHOS and Frank's wonderful "Succès" shave soap & splash. A great Creed "Aventus" homage with an incredibly thick and slick lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching skin food splash & Mont Blanc "Explorer" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Looks as if we're going to dodge the bullet with the winter storm. They're now saying we'll just get a lot of rain.

A fantastic shave with which to close out the workweek! Back to ETHOS and Frank's wonderful "Vanilla Safi" shave soap. Wonderful scent with an incredibly thick and slick lather built with the Riva Brushes badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, Nivea DEEP Vanilla & Bourbon aftershave splash & Viktor & Rolf "Spicebomb" EdT.

Lets hope. My daughter was originally forecast for anywhere from 3 to 16 inches of snow. Now....it just sounds like a light dusting or just rain.

Phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to Fine Accoutrements and their fantastic "L'Orange Noir" shave soap and splash. Wonderful Terre d'Hermes scent with an incredibly thick and slick lather built with the Semogue SOC boar brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and the matching aftershave lotion.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: We did get some ice accumulation. I don't think we're in any danger of power outages due to it but it's severe enough that they've closed some of the mountainous roads and overpasses. Temps are supposed to warm up later above freezing with rain on the way. Not planning to even try to go anywhere in this.

Hello everyone. After consulting with the TSC ownership, they have graciously allowed me to post this here under "special permissions".

Earlier this week, my nephew Chris suffered and heart attack. He's going to be okay, but he and his family are in need of help. Here are the details. Their sweet, sweet boy, Gio, was born with several health issues necessitating multiple hospital stays. Chris is the sole source of income for the family as Gio needs constant care from his mother. Chris used up all his PTO from work looking to his son's needs (doctor visits / hospital stays) and, although he will be able to return to work at some point, with no PTO he and his family will have no income until the pay period following his return.

My brother has set up a GoFundMe page to ask for donations in order to help them meet their needs like rent, gas, utilities, groceries, etc. My family and I would be immensely grateful for any help you could provide.

It's a cold, frigid day here and I'm dreaming of warm temps, sun and sand so here's a souple of Yacht Rock classics from Pablo Cruise. Hope you enjoy.



Fantastic shave this morning! Returned to Ariana & Evans and their fantastic Brut homage, "60's Cologne" shave soap. A great Old School scent with an incredibly thick and slick lather built with the Rich Yuengel synth for three passes with the Timeless TRBR38 and I finished with alum, followed by Quinn's "Cucumber & Mint" witch hazel and the Brut aftershave splash & EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Working from home today. Current temp is 18° but with the wind factored in, it feels like 4°! 🥶

A quick two pass shave today since yesterday's was relatively late. Returned to Soap Commander and their excellent "Fortitude" shave soap. Fantastic scent with an incredible lather built with the Wild West Brushworks badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and vintage Avon "Leather" aftershave lotion.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: A cold 38° here today. To make things worse, there's a fairly strong breeze out of the north. Not a cloud in the sky.

Okay, how are you keeping the soap residue out of the "unfinished" top? Toothbrush?

I just make sure I rinse it out as thoroughly as possible and afterward, I wipe it down with a microfiber cloth.. It's not really soap residue that's generally the problem for me, it's limescale. We have very hard water here and that chalky, white crap would build up on everything. Some years ago I had filtration units installed and that has helped immensely!

Who made that brush again? It's a cool one, makes me think of a pipe bowl.
