I’m going to estimate that there is roughly 104 shaves left in this puck of soap. Granted I’ve been loading for about a full minute, which is way too long. I bet it could stretch to 170 if I back it off a bit.

The WCS Gatsby is doing very well. The AS smells good, but the soap itself seems to have lost most of its fragrance. This isn't stopping it from being a great performer, however. The lather has been nice and slick. My skin really seems to like it.
The tub was 122 grams today, with the lid, after shave #6. It is starting to go fast since I started blooming the soap. Now that it is well hydrated it is loading much easier. 22 grams in 6 shaves is a decent amount of soap (3.67 grams) per shave. It is making a really dense, rich lather with tons of residual slickness that is full of win.

Today was shave #12 on the tub of WCS Gatsby v1. The soap is still excellent and giving me great results. Things got a bit rough with the Gillette Single Ring today, but it wasn't too bad. Badger brushes seem to be the way to go when 3017ing. They seem to hog more lather than synthetics do while loading.
The tub was 90 grams with the lid on after this morning's shave. Assuming the tub and lid weigh in at 30 grams (based on the total weight minus listed soap weight before the first shave) then I have about 60 grams left to go. I am averaging about 3.33 grams per shave, so I estimate 18 shaves left with about 12 days to the deadline. We will see if I can finish it before I have to start the February Williams 3017. I think I can do it because my calculation does not take into account the water weight that the puck has gained due to being bloomed every morning. If I don't finish it before February 1 I might switch over to the Williams and finish the WCS after I kill the modern WIlliams puck. Or maybe I will start the Williams 3017 late. We shall see what sort of mood I am in.

This is currently my plan. I don't think the Shulton will be done by Feb 1 but it will be very close.
I'm still hopeful my Valobra will be done in time. I've been accelerating its demise by loading way more than I need to.... but the lather has been exceptional! I rinse the lather each time I'm done loading, and I leave a little extra water on top to soften it up for the next shave. I haven't been weighing it, so I don't know my exact progress.
I'll be taking it on the road soon for a bunch of travel shaves. Will get some vids done while I'm gone too.

It was time to repack this soap. The center donut hole was growing, and the high sides staying.
I squished it all down into the bottom and found some very soft soap hiding under the hole. This extra soft soap loaded up heavily and easily today. The shaves shall go on.

I had the most amazing lather today! Probably the best lather I’ve ever made! I didn’t think to take a pic, but you can see it on video if you watch my vlog. I think I probably just have one shave left on my valobra! Can’t wait to use it up tomorrow!
