Let's All 3017... 2019 Chiseled Face Edition

My GTB with the lid is 168g. Ready for tomorrow night I guess. The only day I can foresee not using it is Friday 1/4/19 as that is a special day!

So Today was day 1 and if the tub weighs 1 oz and I used .1 oz for today's shave, it looks like I staring at 40 days on average. May have needed a little more product today. I want to get this down to a month if possible.

First use in the books with the trade winds. I will weigh every few shaves. What a great shave. I love this scent. Old Spice with an aquatic note. and the aftershave is superb!

The real kicker will be when this is gone do I want to rebuy?

This will be the true test of how much you really like the scent. If you still want to re-up after this, it’s a keeper!
 
My tub is gently used, but I’m in. I don’t know what it weighs, my bathroom scale doesn’t go that low.

 
Kitchen scales are almost a necessity for 3017ing.

The tub before the first use:

166 grams on my rather dirty kitchen scale.

The first shave with the Sherlock was a little rough, but that was not at all due to the soap. CFG is a great performer and the scent is really interesting. The floral notes of the scent come forward in the soap during the shave. The AS splash is very pepper forward. The EdP is very earth forward. It is fun to experience the different aspects of the scent at different times like this.

I think this is going to be a really great 3017.
 
Here’s my tub. It’s not a fresh one. I also don’t have a scale I can use to weigh it...I really to work on being more prepared for these things...???

i know. Kitchen scales. Sheezers

No where near accurate enough. I only trust a triple beam balance scale.
Just got home. Putting kids to sleep and will get a shaving in a bit.
 
I will get my first shave in Tomorrow as well as tub weight. I am excited to get this going but life happened today and my shave didn't. Nothing bad just family time.
 
So tub weighed in at 145 gm without the lid.

Seems like I need to load the soap a little more. Pass three was on the thin side. Enough to shave but rather light. With some more experience I will. Check
 
I have not tucked into the GTB yet but I think I may take this opportunity to finish off the tub I started years ago. I WILL NOT even try to 3017 a full tub. Lately I have been using on of my own creations made with a eucalyptus/camphor/pine mix meant to clear sinuses. I have had some congestion and the scent helps to clear things up...and the soap/brush comno I have been using has been making the most wonderful of lathers.

One thing we should probably do is keep a record of what an empty CFG tub weighs so we can better understand how much soap remains in other tubs.
 
Got my first shave in this morning. Tub starts at 144g without the lid. I will weigh it weekly-ish.
