Lol, thanks KJ.

I know, the length was funny to me too. I figured going into editing “Oh I’m going to knock almost ten minutes off this thing when I speed it up, this is genius!” Sure...10 minutes off a longer than normal video! ?

Free Shave Day:

Gear: GEM Jr., GEM blade, RR Big Bruce synth, JoHS Turkish Bath (Barbershop), Alum block, generic witch hazel, Stirling Barbershop AS, and MK Cityscape to finish!

Overall nice shave today, though a little more rough than the last two, I think it was my fault though. The GEM Jr. was baptized in a favorite through JoHS’s rich, creamy lather. I think I applied a bit of pressure unintentionally as I chased a bit and ended up with a couple small nicks in my care areas. So a little bit of tenderness and irritation, but the nicks are closed. The shave result is good though, 90%+ BBS. I think I’ll follow up with a GC shave tomorrow and let my skin have an easy day.

Today was my first use of Stirling Barbershop. After cool down it actually matches the JoHS’s warm barbershop scent pretty well IMO. The only major difference I can tell at the moment is that the talc-like note is a bit stronger, lending a little sharpness. After application the talc note was almost peppery, but it smoothed out nicely within 15ish minutes.

Today should be an easy day for the most part, though fairly warm. It’ll get back up to the 90s this afternoon; nights are plenty cool now though, which I love. In fact we forgot to shut of the AC last night and we woke up to a freezing 65 this morning! Kinda funny, kinda not.

The missus goes to her orientation dinner this evening for her university, she is quite excited to begin classes again!

Have a great Wednesday folks!

Nice good shave. Those darn gems only razor I can't get a good shave from.

Thanks Chad! They’re definitely a challenge under the nose and ATG in some spots. Maybe now that the mouse-tache is gone, you should try again!

You're running the A/C, we're running the heater. Must be some place between us that's perfect!

All caught up, Chris. Glad the Vitos treated you well.

BTW, what's your wife's major going to be?

Thanks Chris, loves the Vitos!

Her major is going to be Christian Leadership. She is a dynamite people person and has lots of experience and continued potential as a speaker.

Open Blade Shave #185:

Gear: Feather AC SS, Feather Pro blade (13), RR Game Changer .68, Personna Super blade (6), RR Big Bruce synth, Proraso Red soap, Alum block, generic witch hazel, and St. Charles Shave Woods AS to close.

Well if 13 is an unlucky number, the superstition certainly passed by without event for my shave today. Not a ton of growth to worry about, but I did do 3 quick passes without any injuries. Took a minute to readjust to the shavette and DE after my few days with the GEM, but all in all a nice shave!

Today was my first use of the St. Charles Shave Woods AS. I’m going to assume this is the product as advertised (this was a sample in a lot I obtained). Nice heavy menthol hit at the application, in fact thats all I could really smell. After the cooldown, I can barely detect a faint woody vibe coming off my skin, if my hands are right up to my nose. It’s kind of a barely there, darker wood scent, to me reminiscent of old, well cared for wood furniture or shelving, not in a funky way though, it’s pleasant. I just wish it weren’t so barely-there.

Up a bit early this morning. Made the choice to squeeze in the shower and shave before a scheduled repair appointment. We are having a cracked window replaced as part of our readying for the fall/winter months. Hopefully that goes well, it took about 2 weeks for the specially measured piece.

Today is my Wednesday, but happy Thursday to you all!

Open Blade Shave #186:

Gear: Feather AC SS, Feather Pro blade (14), RR Game Changer, Personna Super blade (7), RR Big Bruce synth, LNHC Artisan Coconut Oud, Alum block, generic witch hazel, and Brut AS to finish.

Good shave today, but definitely time to bin at least the Pro blade!

Typical 3 pass split, Pro blade was very rough and tuggy in the sensitive areas. I powered through the first two passes though, so I can retire the blade respectfully. The Personna on the other hand seems to still be steadily plodding along for the time being. I’ve only been using it on mostly ATG passes so far and it’s edge has held up so far.

Today was my first use of the official Brut aftershave (because I have a homemade version, hear by dubbed Blackbox Brut Fresh). I must say that in the bottle, the scent seems impressive and my version comes very close to matching its notes. Out of the bottle however, I am thoroughly unimpressed - I would not buy this version, period. The scent is something that, to me, is almost not Brut. I vastly prefer my own mix. The only thing it has that mine doesn’t is menthol, which I plan to remedy with the addition of some Osage to mine. Oh well, I was still curious about it, and now I know!

Two shifts of work left for the week! I get to close up a bit early today.

Happy Friday all, we made it!
