Shave #303 (460 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Feather AC folding SS, Feather Pro blade, Blackland Vector, Feather Pro blade, Graydog Art Deco synth brush, CBL Grassroots Lavender soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, LNHC Barber Shoppe post shave elixir, and Zegna Uomo to finish!

Decent sleep-in this morning. Working some chores until the missus is done with her workout and it’s time to go meet her for some late breakfast.

I stinking did it! I made myself bring out the Feather SS for a shave!

It’s been well over 6 months I think, since I’ve picked up an open blade razor for a shave. Did pretty darn decent…no blood loss or hull plating damage as Mr Rich likes to say. Cleaned up with the Vector, and I was good to go! Hoping to keep up the open blade use and break 500 soon.

First use of Zegna Uomo this morning. It’s not mind blowing but it’s pretty decent! It opens up with a blast of bitter citrus and something else, with a hint of violet in the background…all of which is pretty unique to me. It’s opening is a bit unisex but after about 10 minutes it’s masculine, woody nature starts to emerge. The bitterness and violet fade waaaay into the background and it’s nice, vetiver/cedar dry down sets in more fully. One reason I like it is it’s not another blue frag. Those seem to dominate the lighter/summer scent lines and sometimes you just want something not blue/aquatic. Will I buy it? IDK.

Woke up earlier than I would have liked today…ugh. Oh well.

Pretty darn good shave though. Only zinged myself once with the Feather SS…on one of the easier strokes of course! Can’t take that sharp blade for granted! First use of Christmas Eve this year…such a perfect winter holiday scent! Layered on RR Stallion and Azzaro PH for some rich oud, sandalwood, barbershop depth.

Church this morning, I need to go get the hair do cleaned up, then some more laundry to do. Should be a chill day at least.

Congrats on the Feather SS shave, Chris. I have to be on my game to get a great shave with an SS.

I like your description of the Zegna Uomo. I picked up a couple of bottles in product "grab bags" (essentially a blind buy) a few years ago and shared with my brother-in-law. I thought it was a nice, fresh scent for a summer day, but it would not be a re-buy for me. My brother-in-law liked it. He said a guy at work told him he smelled really good. :ROFLMAO:

It is nice juice…just lacking that little something special I think. Haven’t fully decided yet. Obviously worked pretty well for your bro if he got a compliment from a dude! 😂

Blech…is it Monday already?! 😫

Surprisingly groggy and bleary eyed this morning. Whatever.

Pretty darn good shave. 3 days in a row of open bladed passes! Managed to not reopen my slice from yesterday and didn’t make any new ones, so…bonus points! The Phantom is growing on me, just a tad. Still a bit of that 1 Million party boy vibe though 😂

Better wake up today, though I woke up numerous times before my alarm went off wondering…”Hey, shouldn’t my alarm have gone off?” 😂

Great shave continuing with the Feather SS/Vector combo. My skin has been able to handle the extreme efficiency multiple days in a row so far, which is great. All it takes though is one day when I give a little too much pressure and that’s that. Trying to be a little more generous with these sample frag usages. Need to work down my ample supply.

The eldest is starting an after school intensive volleyball camp today to help him get a little more practice and coaching, as he didn’t make the indoor team and though he had made the team for the beach season, didn’t get much play time. It was pretty crushing for him. Hopefully this will bolster his sprits and help him improve.
